No, because someday we'll be gone and they'll be the future people making threads talking about how times were now.
Great post. This seriously brought me back to so many memories. I don't remember all the super early things, because when I first started playing BW, I was just a little scrub hanging out in x17 and OD.. I'm only 22, but it's crazy to think how much of an influence this damn game has had on my life since I started playing when I was 12 and I can honestly say it's the reason I'm living in Seoul now.. even though I don't follow SC too much anymore. One of my greatest memories is playing ToT)TreK(pL and getting nuke rushed and just being on Europe with WGT overall.. but fuck I'm just rambling on about stupid shit.

However, [pG] and ToT)( wasn't much of a rivalry at all man. I mean we're talking about totally different eras at the same time. Perhaps you meant popularity. We had a much bigger rivalry with them before the turn of the decade.
this was around the time tot was bought by pg, in the months previous to that there was alot of discussion on who the better team was and they played against each other in alot of team leagues
The time you talk about was already the downtime of [pG] and not anymore what it was ment to be, sponsoring was gone and players left for Poker :D.
I was on and off with starcraft cuz I didn't know anyone else that liked it when I moved to the Philippines but I definitely remember a whole lot of this stuff :D Limiting it to TL, I can't believe I've already been on this site for so long! haha, joined so long ago I actually forgot my password for about... 5 years P TL battle reports are what sucked me in )
... while being very involved in the gaming world, he finished school with the best possible score in Germany, went on to study at Oxford, finished his bachelor's (math + economics), and afterwards founded one of the most successful poker related sites worldwide aka www.pokerstrategy.com (which sponsored TSL1).
Stuff like this is just plain awesome. Also great blog, i'm kinda upset with myself for not knowing about SC back then, instead I begun to play WoW. All stories i've read or heard about BW are always interesting. As late as of yesterday I was watching Day[9]'s episode 100 for like the 6th time.
I did know most of that stuff. Makes me feel proud.
I once played a guy who said he was Grrrr. I tabbed out after the game and didn't see him whispering that he wanted me to try out for his clan, and when I came back in, he was logged out, never to appear online again. Probably a fake-nick, but you have to wonder...
I also used to take part in the tournaments arranged by Gamingeye (back then they were starcraftse). I got to play Delicato and got so completely fucking crushed I was convinced he hacked, but there were no replays back then xD
edit: Oh yeah, and I dreamt there was a fucking bear in my house and me and my siblings were trying to escape. I fear nothing like I fear bears. Woke up with a headache.
Never played Brood War at all, but I played Pillars numerous times on CnCGenerals, and he was just waaaaaay too good for anyone on that game I imagine he was super good at BW.
