And based on today's games, does anyone really look like a really good SC2 player at the moment (looks like Effort and Motive are like really good) Lizzy vs BByong and Lizzy vs Effort were rather good games. Lizzy showed some nice mechanics in sc2 (he loves smart casting of sc2) And if you wonder Lizzy is Motive Oh and Stardust vs Roro . . . The end game was insane ^^ (not spoiling much.... lots of .... units that will be out in HoTs)

To all BW players going to play sc2, just pick protoss : easy race to master. its the easiest race to win with if you played for a month. that wont mean anything in a few months, and particularly next season when everyone will be focusing on practicing sc2. no one should take anything significant from the results today.

Agreed. It will take time for the T an Z players to figure out the exact timings and how to react to not just flat out die to the simple powerful toss strats out there. No doubt they will improve a lot over the next few months the more they ladder and gain experience.

We agree : I said Protoss is the easiest race to master/learn, I didn't say it was the most powerfull. If we debate about balance issues, I would say the game is balanced, the imbalance comes from the management of each race : it's harder to manage a terran kiting bioball than a protoss deathball in my opinion.

Well, I would say protoss is the most straightforward race but it isn't the easiest to master. The problem is that the Zerg players aren't prepared well to defend 2 base timings and also aren't able to take advantage of their inherently more powerful macro and weaker protoss macro. Other than the immortal timing in the first sc2 game the protoss weren't doing anything special. In fact they were just playing better in general. I mean if you look at the mass air game that was just an example of doing a strategy well and the zerg responding poorly and engaging badly.

I often use SC2 matches as background noises and when watching PL, I often suddenly noticed that match had already started a long ago. Also BW is almost unwatchable for me without English casting. I don't know who the players are, I don't know the metagame etc. In all this a caster would help, but now I'm left to just watching what happens. This almost felt like watching random players ladder. If they had casters I could understand, it wouldn't have felt that way I think. There were multiple restreams available for English casting and OGN has already stated they would be finding English casters. Teamliquid set up a wonderful article on describing each game in fairly good detail about early/mid/late game for each matchup's current metagame. Just stop being lazy and do some research yourself and you would have been fine. As for Korean vs. English, I like the Korean casting far more as they are A. more exciting and B. not so obnoxious when the game is clearly over. They don't sit around going "well that's a gg" for 10 minutes before the actual end of the game.
