I've played each Elder Scrolls game as they have come out. My dad was a big on computers in the 90's, and I was lucky that he bought both Arena and Daggerfall. Daggerfall was by far the best game, the most customizable and distinct, and had the best open world, which was literally endless. Dungeons you got lost in for days.
TES games have always been about directional attacks, and your own customization. Each title has had significantly less of the latter, especially Skyrim.
Always, attacks are directional and up until Oblivion were done by swinging your mouse as you would a sword. Awesome. Then came the clicking. At least the spell casting in Skyrim remained directional. Even if the spell customization was TOTALLY removed.
I would like to see customizable spells, classes, and characters, STATS (not in Skyrim), directional attacks (not select target and just do whatever while everything hits "selected target" perfectly) and the open world we have come to expect from Bethesda.
If one or more of those things is lacking I will be seriously disappointed.
edit The word Bethesda doesn't even appear in any of these announcements. They just sold the rights to this company who mills out bad RPG's. Fucking sad. I always said the Bethesda MMO, when they got around to making it, would be the best. Not even seeing the Bethesda name on any of this makes me very skeptical. This is just a cash cow, and I'll buy it. But my forum trolling will know no ends if its fucking terrible, I promise you that!
Nah, whom am I fooling? They will fucking fail and destroy the franchise. There is no way it will work out without the full support from Bethesda. Zenimax is strong, but the project is too difficult.
No, god no....please no...... already had to sit through KotoR and now TES MMO? Maybe I'd settle for some TES co-op with 3 friends but Im not touching a MMO again...
Oops, realised on further reading it wasn't Bethesda developing, ok good, but I'm still not interested.
Any game that's going to let me go back and explore morrowind, im going to be fucking pumped for.
Could definitely be good, but really we just have to wait and see. At the end of the day I reserve judgement until I can see gameplay footage and then play it for myself.

As long as they don't deviate form the lore or the landscapes that are already in place in the single player game then gogogogogogogo. I think it will suffer the same fate as SWTOR though - everyone quits after a month.

Actually no... if anything, Skyrim is closer to TERA with the action-combat than the WoW style of target-and-use-ability system

So I'm assuming that you won't be able to play it like I do and just kill all the people, including quest givers (after finishing the main story of course)? That is one of the most fun parts about playing these games lol.

Forums are full of trolls today.
Multiplayer = drop in 1 or 2 friends into a regular single player game.
MMO = a generic MMO with the elder scrolls logo on it.

I never asked for one. Plenty of people here never asked for one.
And really, do you not think this is just another one of those "hey guyz, MMOs seem to be making de moniez [actually only WoW is], let's make some!" and then crash and burn another franchise.
