Short stort short: I got bored. Figured i should do some photoshop. Was working on a poster. Got stuck. One thing led to another, and suddenly i was back doing what I've kind of told my self not to; make a wallpaper.
This one was made fairly quick, so it's far from perfect, but I kind of like the idea. I've had some issues making it look realistic (du'h!), but I didn't have the paitence nor skill (without looking up tutorials) to make it better than it is right now. If requested, i'll put some more work into it, to see what I can do.
Anyways, this is going to be the last wallpaper for a while. I think. I have a guilty pleasure, and can't do too much about it, because I'm weak. I'm going to try to focus more on general stuff, such as posters, overlays etc. We'll see. I might post something that's totally not gaming or starcraft related here as well. Time will tell.
Anyways, without further ado, i present 'It's more than a game':
why wouldnt' you put effort into it before you posted it? i think it coulda looked sick but the small effort, i mean you could have at least made the contrast beteen the picture and the shrine less apparent.

I don't know really. I just get really impatient and impulsive at times. Normally I would wait until I was satisfied with what I've made before posting it, but for some reason I didnt do that now.
And yeah, the contrast is too big. I'll look into it tomorrow, and probably just update this entire post with new text and images.
The key to making it look realistic is matching the lighting, perspective, and shadows. Lowering the saturation of the statue a bit should make it blend a lot better. You might also want to use the perspective resize tool to shrink the top just a tad as it looks like it's coming out toward the screen.
I like it quite a lot =] just replaced my old desktop would love to see an improved version =]. Don't stop making wallpapers unless it interferes with something important in your life haha it looks really good.
After getting quite a lot of replies both here, and on reddit, I've decided to put some more effort into this photo, as well as using the same concept for other famous landmarks, and make a small set of SC2 structures replacing landmarks.
I will be posting a new post with an updated version of this pic + a couple of other wallpapers in not too long. I do, however, have a dayjob, so things might take a little while
