Are there any replays or VODs of these matches?
|
Those are some damn terrible team names.
|
Well, the second preliminary round have better names but I give no assurances for player ID.
Small Hippo vs TDB NEB vs Viper Luster(?) vs MKZ Superstar vs LDG Team OP vs Folktale AEON vs NEL
Also all VOD will be updated on OGN eventually.
Edit: Thanks, but do note Luster is '광 (Gwang)' which could in fact mean multiple meanings such as 光 (Light, Luster) 廣 (Wide) 鑛 (Ore) 狂 (Insane) 曠 (Empty)... this is assuming they picked the name thinking of chinese character rather than just Gwang because it sounds cool. Also because of Korean pronounciation 포크테일 could possibly be 'Pork/Fork ... Tale/Tail' but I assumed Folktale is much more likely than Porktail. Translating team names literally with absence of information is very perilous business so I recommend including the Korean names and placing my names beside it on brackets.

I changed team names, thx Hesmyrr

It is a HUGE commitment, and Im guessing OGN worked with CLG and Fnatic for a long time in order to make sure everything was smooth for the tournament.
2- Its in Korea. OGN has a destinct interest in making the foreign teams as interesting as possible. And say what you will, but Koreans love CLG and HSGG. I dont know how well known is Fnatic is in comparison over there, but they are the only European team that has ever been consistent enough (at lans at least) to take down American teams on a regular basis.

Day 2 of the prelim tournament starting now I think

Missed it (though apparently it still isn't over yet, heh) =/ There's like.... one comment I missed. Hope this tournament gets more attention with the Korean preliminaries over.

This is off the topic, but why do Koreans love HSGG? From watching his streams a long time ago with manyreason, he frequently made racist comments about koreans, and from what I remember a while ago there was a rumor that Koreans made a pact to troll HSGG whenever they got que'ed together in solo que because of this. I'm honestly curious what happened afterwards that made him so appealing to koreans

I'm honestly curious what happened afterwards that made him so appealing to koreans He is the single most popular person in the lol scene. Hands down. He is essentially the Boxer of lol. Way before everyone and their mother had a stream, it was HSGG sitting there with 20k every time he turned his stream on.
He also occasionally posts on korean forums (I think Bekah translates for him).
But I think it is mostly just a case of him being the biggest face of LoL

Small Hippo vs TDB 2:0 NEB vs Viper 2:0 Luster vs MKZ 2:0 Superstar vs LDG 2:1 Team OP vs Folktale 2:0
AEON vs NeL to be held off-line due to server problems.
@ spacemonkey4eve He started posting on DCGame League of Legend gallery (=forum) which is somewhat of a 4chan in its influence and community.
