So, I like to wear my hair long. Not anything out of control, but fairly long bangs, covering the ears; not shoulder length or anything. Sadly, I have a problem. Whenever I wear my hair long, if I take a shower in the morning, by lunchtime my hair explodes.
What starts out as something like this
Ends up like this:
Perhaps that's a hyperbole, but you can see what I'm getting at. If I washed my hair in the morning, it always ended up curling and poofing out, if it's windy the wind will blow it everywhere and it ends up even worse. As a result, I ended up only washing my hair at night, and washing only your body in the morning. I didn't really enjoy doing that, so I decided that when I went to go get my hair cut today, I was going to finally get it cut short.
I was going to go to my regular barber shop but my friends new(ish) GF insisted that I go to her solon where she worked and get my hair cut by her friend because she thought I'd like her and she was really good (I think she was trying to set me up with her, but I don't know). I was getting a new style anyway, so I said that was fine.
Fast forward to this morning when I'm seated at her chair. We had been talking for a few minutes and getting along, and she seemed pretty fun/interesting. We talked about what we each were studying, music, jobs, etc. At this point I'm thinking of asking this girl out to coffee or something to get to know her better. She eventually asks me what I want my hair to look like. I just know I wanted it short, so I told her as much and just told her to do whatever she thinks would look good because I've never really had short hair before.
We talked a bit more as she shampoos and starts trimming, and then the worst thing happened. I was talking about my birthday a few weeks past and she asks me how old I was (22). After talking a bit about that she asks me how old I think she is. D:
Well, any guy can tell you, this question is bullshit. You can't answer too old, because she's going to be pissed off. You can't answer too young because you know she's going to know you're not serious. I said I thought she was 24. I thought she was probably 27 or maybe 28, so I thought that this was a safe bet. Nope. I could tell immediately that She was not happy at all. All of a sudden we went from a nice conversation to fucking coldface silence. I tried to bring up some more topics, but you could tell she wasn't in the mood to talk anymore. I felt like such a poop for upsetting her like that, but what really sucked was when she spun the chair around to the mirror.
I had just gotten the worst haircut I have ever received. She took off almost everythig from the sides and there's just a point where the hair starts and it goes like striaght up. I've never been a fan of spikes (not that I dislike them), but this has got to be the wierdest looking spike haircut I've ever seen. It's too short now to really do anything with it but what she's done and I look horrible with a buzzcut, so I'm basically stuck with it. I still felt bad for upsetting her, so I took this as a punishment for being a poop and thanked her and left; there's nothing she could have done anway besides buzzing it down completely.
Sigh. I left with a bad haircut and didn't even dare asking for her number after that. It's a shame, she was a really interesting person, too. Well, I guess it was my fault for going with a barber who I don't know and trust. Let that be a lesson to all of you out there; if you find a good barber, stay loyal!
I'm going to go play some ladder games to cheer myself up. Glhf TL, peace.

Dude it's not your fault. If she gets all spiteful for you thinking she's only 24 then she's not worth it. What in the world is wrong with being 24? Women are so psychotic sometimes.

I like the poofy hair better. Moar hair.

Moral of the story TLers....women can be bitches. Stay away.

Seriously, don't feel bad about this. It's not your fault she was a total bitch. And you should have gone to her manager about that. She deliberately did that for ultimately no reason whatsoever.
|
Your hair (before you got it cut) sounds just like mine. I guess I'll learn from your lesson and not do what you did.
|
So how old is she? You think she was like 19?
|
That age question... fuuuuuuuu.
Should've said 24 and half. Maybe then your hair would look OK.
|
Seriously, if that girl got so fucking pissed because you answered a bullshit question fairly decently, you should talk to her manager and tell her off. She had no right to do that.
|
you're too hard on yourself. a girl who's age conscious about being 24 isn't really a girl anyone should be dating.

Real pictures so we see it and make proper response.
Also, ironing, it works wonders!

I felt like such a poop for upsetting her like that
I laughed so hard at this sentence I don't even know why.
That girl was seriously a bitch though. No one fucks with my hair. I would have flipped a shit. She shouldn't have asked such a question if she was going to be all pissy about the answer.
Is it too late to talk to the manager or something?

lol age question. Always better to go too young than to go over. The mistake in your thought process was when you assumed them thinking you are not being serious / lying is a bad thing. People in a lot of situations actually like/want to be lied to whether they realize it or not, it's part of being human. Why do you think she asked you in the first place. If they say they think you're not being serious go "well how old are you really then?" and when they tell you their age go "WHAT NO WAY wow! and look honestly shocked. They'll forget about not believing the original lie and feel happy .
Sometimes I'm so cynical I scare myself.

My psychology professor in college claimed 24 was the age women were supposed to be the most "beautiful" because of hormones or some such ( I may be wrong on the reason but I remember the age). She should have taken it as a compliment!

Hah, how about: don't piss off your barber.

Did you find out her actual age (by asking your buddy's girlfriend)?
Also, if she's self-conscious at 24, you probably don't want to be with her when she gets older.
|
24? Too close to 25, which is halfway to 30, which no woman wants to be.
21? Too cliche.
22? Saucy, the same number duplicated twice has subtle unconscious references to bra sizes and a sposh of ditzy to it.
23? Just right.
|
Bro, if she got upset over being called 24 (one of the sexiest ages out there might I add), then you didn't want her number in the first place.
also, i wanna see actual pics of the hair

If your hair looks like Jaedong's you are one fine ass man
