Today the ESV Mapmaking Team is proud to announce our newest addition to the team, Travis "IronManSC" Rinker! Formerly of team TPW, IronManSC has quickly become one of the very top talents in the foreign mapmaking scene, and has almost unparalleled asthetic work. Creating amazing maps like Ohana, IronManSC will be a wonderful addition to the team! We feel the addition of IronManSC will not only benefit IronManSC himself, but also the entire ESV team as a whole! I am so excited to add IronManSC to the team, and think this move far and away puts ESV as the very premiere mapmaking team. With IronManSC comes the runner up of the TL Map Contest, Ohana, which is one of the most visually appealing maps of all time. Statement from IronManSC I am really excited to be going from TPW to the ESV map team. I've learned a significant amount of mapping from TPW, and I love those guys and appreciate all their support and hard work, but I feel it's time for me to take a step further into the mapping world, and ESV has presented that to me. Hey guys I have always been in awe of the map making community but don't know much about it. Do map making communities like ESV and TPW have some sort of hate or dislike towards each other or are they on friendly terms? Also do map makers make maps purely for fun or are they paid for it (apart from paid contests).

grats ironman, great maps, keep up the good work!

Pretty friendly terms, but of course we all want to be the best . This decision was talked over with TPW by IronManSC and they were ok with it.
The amount of communication in the top top map making community is unreal, it's a really awesome thing.
Edit: No one makes money making maps aside for contests. Tournaments besides PSL don't pay for maps. It's a shame.

Thanks so much ^^ I look forward to contributing everything that I have to the success of ESV, the map community, and most of all, E-sports.
If anyone is interested in watching me work on melee map projects, I have a map stream that I use daily (taking a break for now). Here is the link for all the map streaming information:

I do it purely for fun and because it's a hobby of mine - regardless if I never get paid for it. But to make it this far into the mapping scene makes it feel like a bigger responsibility, so I take my work seriously and with pride.

Highly likely. Might be Clearwater. Not 100% sure right this second.

O___o didn't see that coming.
Well, I look forward to seeing your works in the korean weekly, ironman
