Download a PSX emulator. There's tons of good Playstation 1 games you can play on crappy PCs. Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy Tactics, Suikoden, Star Ocean, etc.

go for old rpgs, they are super awesome: baldur's gate series, planescape: torment, neverwinter nights, icewind dale series, maybe some diablo series, hmmm, morrowind, ghotic.

A lot of the command and conquer games are free to d/l and play these days... If their comp is 'really, really shitty' then those games would be perfect.
