Due to the recent spoilings of the Blizzard Cup in the SC2 General section of this forum, I've decided to write a Google Chrome Extension that hides topics/news posts that would spoil the results.
What it does? It is a pretty simple extension. All it does is hide the news on the front page and sidebar, and all topics that contain the text [Spoiler] in the title. It also hides said topics from the sidebar aswell.
How can I install it? Simply go to: http://www.4shared.com/file/8eCaOb-k/SpoilerHider.html using Google Chrome, it will ask if you want to install the extension, just click yes.
How do I turn it off once I have finished watching the matches? Click the wrench in the top right corner of Chrome, go to "Tools" -> "Extensions" and uncheck the "Enabled" checkbox beside the Extension.
If you have any questions/comments/suggestions, feel free to leave them in this topic, or send me a PM.

Sweet! now I won't get trolled anymore by coming on the first page and see those ever so tempting posts.

It's as if people come here just so they can complain about being spoiled. Why would anybody come here before watching the games if they don't want it to be ruined?
Nice of you to write this but it's sad that you felt the need to in the first place

Why? Nobody's forcing anybody to visit TL before watching games. It's like going to NHL.com or NFL.com before you saw a game, seeing the score and then freaking out about spoilers.
Either watch the games first, or deal with it. I don't get why spoilers are such a big deal, anyways. I don't care if I know the result of a sports game, or SC2 match. I'll still watch it and get the same amount of enjoyment out of it.

it already is. doesn't stop people from doing it, though, just punishes them when they do.

Nice of you to write this but it's sad that you felt the need to in the first place It's my favorite website, maybe I have some free time before I'm actually able to watch the match and I want to browse the forums

Yea but. Teamliquid is my home page. If I am not playing sc2 I am browsing through topics and honestly its my own fault if i read a spoiler. At the same time its always nice for people to use "spoiler tags" for at least a day after the event, because not all of us are lucky enough to be in the right time zone for events or have work or other responsibilities that prevent us from watching LIVE. That doesn't mean we are not dedicated its just how it works out.

Rofl what a sad addon, seriously if you don't want spoilers don't go on SC2 related sites.

That would be true if the GSL was the only tournament anywhere, it was played at primetime and was able to be watched live by people with jobs/other commitments etc.
You can't compare them in a vaccuum, but lets not get off topic. This seems like a useful extension but like what one guy said, most people just say "Player X won GSL, next Bonjwa!1?!!!1"

its called courtesy. NHL or NFL games dont air in the middle of the night/odd hours, the vast majority of people are UNABLE to watch them live, and so must watch vods. this is how we have been doing things for YEARS.

Cool OP, although I watch most of the matches live it's nice to see someone is looking out for the minority (the one's complaining about spoilers ofc).

Perhaps the TL staff should inform people to put such a tag in their title now, and not have to worry about using an ambiguous title, while urging everyone to use this extension? I can see that as a possible solution to this spoil/spoiler debate xD

On one hand, this will be a great extension to suggest to people who bitch about being spoiled on tl. On the other hand, people who come to tl and complain about being spoiled don't really deserve any sympathy, and I'm not prepared to bitch at someone who makes a spoilerish topic without [spoiler] all over it
