Simple as that... there are other things to do on this website than to look up results, and who are you to say in what order they have to do things? TL rules say you should not spoil, simple as that.

On the other hand, people who come to tl and complain about being spoiled don't really deserve any sympathy, and I'm not prepared to bitch at someone who makes a spoilerish topic without [spoiler] all over it You're basically saying that it's ok for people who spoil to keep breaking rules.

I'll still watch it and get the same amount of enjoyment out of it. It's nice that you don't care and everything but the extension is for people who care. People who don't want to be spoiled but still want to be able to enjoy the rest of what the website has to offer. If you don't care then you're not the target audience.

As for those of you who seem offended by this idea, I'd like to remind you that most people can't watch international broadcasts live and sometimes they can't even watch them fully by the next day. TL can be a big part of their internet browsing and they may love to use it for all kinds of things not related to some specific tournament. A tool like this will allow these people to have more enjoyment in watching their favorite tournaments, and still be able to enjoy browsing TL. And I don't think the addition of [SPOILER] in thread titles will really be too damaging to anyone. Thanks for the tool.

The problem with people like you is that you're being selfish, sure you can't watch it and I understand that, but hey I cannot catch every event either. You and I both know events are worldwide, and in different time-zones you're not gonna catch every single one, I sure as heck don't and can't. For the greater good of e-Sports, there needs to be excitement and clamor when a great even takes place, but because kids like you are so selfish and don't wanna "spoil" your OWN fun, you have to make everything so downplayed and hidden. This is my opinion, but I truly believe I've nailed it on the bud. I really hope this nonsense ends one day, not for myself, but for e-SPORTS to prosper and become truly glorified. It's great now sure, but it could be greater, if you can't sacrifice your own fun for the greater good well then, selfishness will live on cause nerds can't take one for the team.

Then this addon would be even better for everyone! People that have no problem being spoiled just don't use it and a simple spoiler tag in front of threads won't hurt anyone. And people like me who like visiting TL for the general forum, finding vods etc. and don't want to get spoiled could use stuff like this addon to circumvent it. @OP: Maybe you could add the fanclub section to it as well, it happened to me a lot that I was spoilered through that because the winner's fanclub normally stays on top of the list for some time. Also, would it be possible to make a firefox addon (if you can't or don't want to do it, maybe someone else could?), because this is pure genius and I would love to use it as well

But on the other hand, it's their own damn fault for going to an SC2 community website and discussion forum before watching the games. I consider it 100% the responsibility of the person who doesn't want the results spoiled for them to take all necessary actions to avoid stumbling across spoilers. Going on to a SC2 forum and blaming the OP that spoils the results, just because it's against the rules, is passing the buck. You should have known better. People break the rules all the time, and expecting punishment to work as a deterrent is really naive.

You really haven't nailed it. This website is much more than a SC2 related site. If you scroll farther down the left side you'll see a bunch of subforums unrelated to SC2 and even without scrolling down there is a general section. It's those forums that attract people to this website who also don't want events spoiled for them. Also having a full-time job and a family also prevents people from watching the full match at the broadcasted time so they rely on VODs. It's a lot easier to browse the forums for 5 minutes than it is to watch the GSL finals that go to game 7 in 5 minutes so they may need to wait up to a week to watch the games. You have to look at it from other people's perspective. If this website was only SC2 and nothing else than you may have a point but it's really so much more and that's why we have spoilers.

Likewise, a newspaper is so much more than Sports. Yet, the day after an important game I missed and want to watch later, I know enough to stay away from newspapers until I get the time to watch the game myself. I'd likewise stay away from any bars, which are about so much more than just Sports, but incredibly likely to spoil the game. I'd also avoid getting into conversations with people I know are likely to bring up the game in casual conversation. If your ability to watch the game is so limited that you can't spend a day or two avoiding the most likely spoiler-zones, then it's incredibly unrealistic to expect that you'll be able to watch a spoiler-free match.

It's so easy to be hypocritical. You too are being selfish by wanting to spoil the results of games other people haven't seen. Making people not want to watch games they have missed because they've been spoiled is hurting esports just as much as "downplaying the excitement." It's not hard to put spoiler tags in thread titles/thread content, and it doesn't do anything to "hurt esports" by having those seven extra letters. What it does do, however, is show respect to other people who enjoy watching the games as much as you do.
