Q: So you've finally met up with a Korean player in the final, how do you compare yourself with the tip top player in Korea? A: I don't actually feel there is that much of a difference between us in terms of skills, the main problem was me not performing very well in the finals.
Q: Can you please summarize what mistakes you've made in those games. A: The first game I've made the mistake of not scouting his first barrack in time and ended up wasting a lot of scouting time, thus did not have enough time to prepare for his rush.
I've thought a lot about the second game, but his initial push with the 3 tanks caught me off guard as I was preparing for his drops instead. Usually by the time he starts dropping I would have about 24 mutalisks in play. After his tank push had ended, I figured his tech would be slowed from the push and thus I stopped producing mutas to start teching myself. As a result of this, I did not have enough mutas to properly deal with his drops.
Q: Do you think the difference in skills between you (or the Chinese gamers in general, there is no pronoun that indicate this) and the Koreans will change in the upcoming year. A:This will largely depends on the event organizers in China. Currently, the biggest obstacle that is facing the Chinese players are in the maps that we are using at home. In China, the maps we play on are either very old or custom made. Maps like the ones used in GSL, MLG are very hard to come come by. This puts us at a great disadvantage when playing against international gamers. We hope the chinese tournament organizers will take this into consideration in the future.
Q: Do you plan to go to Korea next year and what are your thoughts on HOTS. A: Our fanclub (team) is already looking at sending its player to Korea to compete. I do not have a good outlook on HOTS as I believe zerg will still be underpowered in the expansion.
Remark: The literal translation of the part in regards to Xigua's view on HOTS is given below for comparison Transliteration: I believe after HOTS, zergs will still be in a state of tragedy. Because HOTS has not finish being translated yet, It should rather be called "Broken heart of the Swarms."
Q: Would you like to thank anyone beside your fans. A: I would like to thank my fanclub (team) iG
Well, I was rooting for him today, but I'm thinking I might reconsider having read that interview.
I really don't like the sound of that mindset, he kind of just sounds like he's crying and externalizing his mistakes. "I think I'm just as good as MVP, I just played badly in the finals" "I only lost because I thought he'd be further behind than he was, and got caught off guard" Well, yes, that's one of the hallmarks of playing someone who's better than you. And the zerg still being a tragedy in hots is absurd for a large number of reasons.
Iunno... kind of expected a better outlook considering how far he came, even if he got roflstomped in the end.

Believe me, some loss in translation. He is obviously kidding about the heart of swarm thing.

dude WCG is just embarassing. Way to end on such a horrible note. Xigua is trash the guy played a bunch of b teamers except for kas to get to the finals. Chinese players are probably some of the worst except for maybe the filipino players. WCG wprst way to end what was a great year for SC2. I hope WCG drops SC2 next year so we can forget about it permanently. I waited all year for this? really? I usually have nothing but glowing things to say about sc2 tourneys but this was awful.

Jeez, chill man. They are basically all B teamers in WCG. WCG is supposed to be an amateur league, not like GSL. About Xigua, you can't discount anyone who only lost to Koreans in a tournament.

Everybody should have pride in his skillset, I think. Saying in public that you got roflstomped because your opponent is way better than you... >________> Nobody with pride would say that! Don't be harsh on the humans. It's very likely he KNOWS deep down he got totally schooled, it's just not something you should admit in public. At least, I think so.

Based on this logic, MVP didn't defeat any significant opponent either. Not one player constantly played well in this tournament except MVP.
Why so negative towards him, did he borrow your $100 and not return also?

he is lucky it is BO3, if it is BO7, MVP will kick his ass 4-0 , then he can try to talk again "there is no skill different, just that he forgot to scout barrack, or forgot to prevent drop, BLAH BLAH BLAH"

Interesting that people will say that. I've read his interview in Chinese. He wasn't saying anything like that, the only answer where he said that the gap between Koreans and him isn't very big (Which is what everyone has being saying that Korean's skill level isn't astronomically ahead of foreigners).
The rest of the his answer is about an analysis he gave to why he lost which sounds reasonable and he focused on his mistakes so I'm not even sure why people saying he is externalizing his mistakes? >.<
The part of about zerg in HOTS was a joke ffs...
To people going on about Chinese players are shit, you seem to forget that MacSed (A Chinese player) also took a game off MVP... I wish some one would translate the MVP interview from replays.net, MVP was saying that MacSed put him in a dangerous spot and he was very grateful to have won in the end.
One tournament doesn't mean anything but RTS history shows that the Chinese scene is a force to reckon with.
