The way that the financial advisor explained it to me is that since they (Canada Student Loans [CSL]) are funding my education, they can stipulate minimum requirements for attendance. In a sense, this is a good thing because there are lots of people that will apply for a student loan, get the cash, and then just not go to school. When CSL pulls your funding, the school doesn't get paid for the courses and therefore you can't attend unless you pay for your tuition out of your own pocket. Not sure if this explains anything really, but if you have any questions about specifics I can try and answer them. Ugh. There is no reason ever to go a for-profit college. You would be much better off at a community college. As you can see in this very post, for-profit postsecondary institutions don't really give a shit about their students (i.e., not providing adequate internet service or facilities). If you are not far in to your program you really should consider changing institutions.

And don't speak ill of "Canadian Internet", this is a case of a company being overly frugal. My internet at home has no problems whatsoever. Those kind of jabs at Canadians really irritate me >

What I'm saying is that this situation might encourage them to upgrade their internet and thus provide a better service (which for all we know could help them in the long run o.O). You are right, hopefully it brings attention to the poor internet. Will the administration do anything about it though? Probably not.

Yup I agree with this. Shouldn't be told how to do your time should be able to do it yourself and not be babied like in high school and what not. I never understood why people just don't get ahead and kind of finish as fast as possible rather then wasting class time for that kind of stuff. Oh well whatever while they stress and you are not they look at you and go "how the fuck are you not stressed?" :D

He lives in Canada, post-secondary education is paid in most part by the government. And the taxpayers don't pay to have kids wasting their days on facebook.
