You're not censoring their sex, you're censoring the word from being used because it may have poor connotations.

Come to think of it, it's pretty funny that it's filtered by the MATURE language filter and you want everyone to be able to see it, including NOT mature people, and then you say only mature (mature = 18+ right?) people are allowed to vote. Why do you care anyway ? Sorry, didn't notice you edited the post while I was writing.

Anyone on the internet can lie about their age, and if they censor this why don't you just turn the mature language filter off. It's a non-offensive, simpe descriptive term. She-male might be a bit more "graphic" or whatever you call it, but I feel like it's still not enough to censor it. There's nothing wrong with homosexuality but calling someone a faggot or a homo is almost always an insult. In the same sense, calling someone a tranny does not have a positive connotation. Also : 1) Turn off the filter if it bothers you. 2) Blizzard won't change their filter for you. It's meant to make anything possibly offensive blocked. They block a ton of words; why not make the thread about the entirety of their filter system? 3) It's an RTS game. If you really want to be talking about shemales, maybe you shouldn't be on battle.net chatting about it. There are plenty of places you can talk about anything you want besides battle.net that won't censor the word. 4) Censoring a word doesn't mean they are discriminating against those people.

Here is a brief reduction of your entire idea to ad absurdum. + Show Spoiler + Shemale is a generally derogatory term while transvestite is actually a commonly used method of identification. You don't need to ask others what is acceptable and what isn't. Calling your opponent a shemale is inappropriate, so is calling them a transvestite. But wait!! What if your opponents JEWISH! And you call them A NUN! Wait wait, what if they're a man and you call them a woman! CENSOR WOMAN FROM BATTLENET Here's what you need to know to save yourself a lot of time. Online Rating Notice Online-enabled games carry the notice "Online Interactions Not Rated by the ESRB." This notice warns those who intend to play the game online about possible exposure to chat (text, audio, video) or other types of user-generated content (e.g., maps, skins) that have not been considered in the ESRB rating assignment. Whatever you're trying to do is going to ultimately hit that wall. I'm not trying to shit all over your day or put you down- I know my tone is a little brisque. Sorry, I get that way when people randomly show up and ask me to do things for them. The game is rated T for offline play. Whatever happens online falls under the clause I've quoted above. Blizzards in game censorship button is just icing and ~_~ I think they'll be completely indifferent to your appeal.

If you're interested in knowing. After patch 4.3 was released in world of warcraft, there has been a bug blizzard has yet to fix where every time you log in, the mature language filter is automatically checked, so some how, everyone in the guild got curious to as what was censored and what wasn't. that's how I found shemale was censored.
