Poll: Should "Shemale, transvestite, etc" be censored? No (Explain why) (65) 83% Yes (Explain why) (13) 17% 78 total votes Your vote: Should "Shemale, transvestite, etc" be censored? (Vote): Yes (Explain why) (Vote): No (Explain why)
ANSWER THIS AS IF YOU WERE A SHEMALE
Blizzards censorship is something that needs to be in the game, since it's only a T rated game. There is one thing that is censored that it would VERY MUCH offend someone. You can understand that words such as "Nigger, cunt, chink, etc etc" should be censored because, of course, people take offense to those things. Now, what about shemales? This makes me extremely mad that blizzard has put "Shemales" and anything meaning something that is related to a shemale on the list of censorship.
Do you guys think blizzard should censor "Shemale, transvestite, etc" in blizzard entertainment games?
If there are more no votes than yes, I will be using your explanations in a email I will be contacting blizzard with concerning this matter.

You can't make a poll on a public forum like TL then proclaim that certain people can't vote. Not only could you never know, it defeats the purpose of the poll and discussion.

DO NOT VOTE IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 18. THIS IS MY PERSONAL PREFERENCE OF WHO I WANT TO VOTE ON THIS. DO NOT QUESTION THIS.
Public forums policies disagree with your preference. It's difficult to mandate a preference when online anonymity is a key piece of the internet.

You don't need a poll to write an e-mail to Blizzard, rationally and socially speaking, those words should not be censored. Just call upon gender fairness or something simple or at least ask why those words are censored.
Edit: Shemale is a derogatory word, didn't know that. I never use it, but that's new to me.

They can if they want, I just rather they don't because they are less likely to explain why in an intellectual way.

That's ageism. You're making a sweeping generalization that anyone under the age of 18 is unable to explain or justify their choice on an intellectual level.
How ironic lol. You call to uncensor words of differing genders, but want to censor certain ages from communicating their views because you don't think they're smart enough?
Oh boy.

It's their game. They can censor what they want. Also, why would you ever use the words shemale and transvestite in Starcraft 2 anyway? I mean, I have nothing against anyone; don't care what your sexual orientation is, what race you are, etc., but I don't think it's that big of a deal.
Also going all caps lock with the 'DO NOT VOTE IF YOU'RE UNDER THE AGE OF 18" is going to do nothing but bad for this thread. You can't set guidelines on who can vote in a poll. That, my friend, is censorship.

I want other peoples opinions so i can include them in the email with what people think of this.

Plus people won't read that far down before voting. Don't see why this is very important, but voted no.

Must resist urge to create a poll about if it is okay to censor a vote about censorship...
|
Don't waste Blizzards time.
And for what it's worth I disagree that there needs to be any censorship at all.
|
to be honest I really couldn't care less. I've never had the urge or have ever been called a shemale ingame -.-

a) shemale/=transvestite
b)The term shemale is very often considered a derogatory term for people who fit the category. Do your research before you post these kind of things.

It's their game. They don't have to be politically correct.

I've removed the age limit. Also, I discovered this while playing world of warcraft. Censoring someones sex because of who they are is a discrimination.

I think the general opinion is: you don't need other opinion that will agree with yours. Unless, of course, you don't really have a proper way of formulating an opinion, but just know it's wrong...
Are you under 18 btw?

No,I don't think there should be any censorship in an online game.Yet you can always disable the Mature Language Filter if you deem yourself capable of whitstanding the foul language.
