Yes, he's on PanDa. DoomsVille misspoke. He was referring to Infi, not Lyn.

Tyloo will probably lose 5-2 at best, but they're not terrible.

Apparently that event was plagued by bad lag.

SlayerS went 15-1 the past 3 weeks using B teamers against Western players like Stephano, Nerchio, Elfi, etc who are far more proven than any Chinese player. StarsWar is about as accurate a guage of the strength of the Chinese scene as TSL3 was of the Western scene. It was a (mostly) online tournament and happened way too long ago to say anything about what the scene is like now. And for the record Chinese players did not do well against MC at all. Got stomped by him as a matter of fact. Stating honest observations isn't 'China bashing.' Chinese players will get respect when they perform well at major international LANs. It's the same standard applied to everyone.

Apparently that event was plagued by bad lag. The NA-China games at least were played alternating servers. So, for example, Xiaot beat Idra on both the Chinese and NA server for the 2-0. I believe that the EU vs Asia games were played on NA. They took lag into account, and tried to make the choice of servers fair. Also, the replacements that were sent to the Blizzcon weren't the top players. Their results at the Chinese qualifier were similar to their results at Blizzcon. They're probably top 16 material, but Xigua would roflstomp toodming and loner any day. I agree that IEM looked really bad, but Xigua really shouldn't be judged solely from the few games that he played there. Everyone has off days. Try to learn more about the scene. The Chinese scene is fairly isolated, but they do occasionally play other Asian countries. China has wrecked in SEA tournaments, and players compete on fairly evenly with Koreans in the recent FXOpen KOTHs. They also play on Korean ladder and have high enough MMR to play lots of the well known korean pros. They'll probably lose to Slayers by a good margin, but I can see them taking a couple games.

Hahha, that reminds me of this really early game of his I watched where he actually went for fast Building Armor upgrades against a Zerg, and they didn't help one bit, and he got completely rolled. I laughed.

It's not like SEA has a lot of great players though. And online events such as KOTH are way different from actual events. If Western teams struggled to take more than a game or 2 off of slayers I doubt Tyloo can take more than 1

I think we've seen enough of the Chinese players to lay rest to the "mystery" behind them -- their lack of exposure isn't hiding any secret banjos, that's for sure. They're just middling at best.

While the Chinese scene seems pretty terrible now, Fruitdealer and Nestea were both knocked out on the KR server by Chinese players for all 3 sets played. Servers weren't being changed for KR-CN games.

In general, you can say their Terran players are terrible, and their Zerg players are weak, but their top Protoss players aren't bad (and for a while, I'd say their Protoss players were pretty good). Too bad xiaOt retired; he was the first Protoss player I liked and showed a lot of promise.
