I look on TL and I see only a swirl of basically rage against Gus and his crimes against E-Sports. This is rightly so, because as Incontrol said, if a tournament or a person fucks up, the community has a duty to E-Sports to beat them into submission, and only then can a consistency of a great sport can arise. Public backlash NEEDS to be severe, because it needs to be feared by those who do dare to run tournaments, Quality NEEDS consistency to be a sport.
But I have yet to see a complete thread about how well those aforementioned people did. They worked incredibly hard to make an impossible situation a watchable tournament. I think at the same time we whip Gus Ledezma for the wrongs he has committed against E-Sports and the Philippines, we need to reward those who do positive things for E-Sports. Just as the community needs to make those involved in E-Sports fear the public backlash should they fail, they need to have something to look forward to. And while I think the community has performed this to a very admirable extent, we need to keep our consistency up 100% of the way so that people always know what they are getting into in E-Sports.
So here is one person taking a step back from the Gus hatred, ignoring his crimes, and merely thanking Rachel, Tastosis, Gunrun, BeeDuck (despite their lackluster casting, they still kept that event going, and helped it have a winner who will contribute to what will be, I'm sure, another great IPL tournament) and anybody else who has helped this event. I suppose it is a failure to practice what I preach by not mentioning the individual names of everybody who made that tournament watchable, but either way, here is a thank you from one 13 year old kid, if that means anything.
THANK YOU!!
