Football is like a religion in TX. I lived in the suburbs of Houston for 9 years and the school district had a 10,000 seat football stadium that sold out regularly. I never understood it..

Yea i used to live in Texas near Dallas, even though i was only 5 i remember the whole town shutting down and going to high school games -_-

My on and off girlfriend,
we're presently in a kinda limbo; she's dating, im dating, but i guess this was like a couple of years ago at Shilla hotel (the one in Seoul) for a weekend.

and on the comment about the entire stero-typical asian thing; to put it in context, of course there is a sterotypical 'asian american' ideal.
but for the record, when you don't live as a generic asian in north america; but rather in your country, then of course you're not pigeon holed as being a nerd, etc. cause
1. we dont' consider ourselves 'asian' but Korean (when we identify ourselves)
2. there are korean nerds and jocks here, etc, but playing games is normal in korea (celbs do it), as well as studying hard, having some musical ability and being phyically active and able to fight (as many of you know, every school has 2 ranking systems of top student and top fighter)
even the most nerdiest guy needs to be able to have the ability to fight and the most physical guys still needs to graduate from university.

anyways, Koreans would think it is imbalanced to be one or something less, but to be exceptional great, to be lacking, terrible.

anyways as always, any of you guys come out to korea, i'll take you out for soju (its all i can afford these days). ^^

Yup, in Texas high school football is the HUGE deal. Did you live in a smaller town? We don't do the shutting down thing here. That's like Odessa and the smaller towns.

He doesn't know where he wants to go yet. Him, my other best friend, and I are going to go around the country during the summer time and attend all our favorite of colleges' football camps and see where we like best. Right now he's leaning towards Ole Miss because his dad is from there and a lot of his family is there, and Texas because his girlfriend and him are like married and that's where she wants to go. Michigan is my favorite college football team so that'd be awesome if he went there, their offense fits his style too, but they haven't offered him yet.
