A little bit of background on me (that leads to why wisconsin blows ass): I am 19, gay, have very little physical labor skills, and hate snow. I didn't complete high school because of issues related to my sexuality and mental illness, but earned a GED in less than a month the summer after I dropped out. I attended a semester of community college at a local school, but being in the classroom with judgemental bigots who made my life hell in high school was just not fun. I took my ACT and SAT for my Evergreen admission (they need to not do those at 8 AM, Starcraft nerds are allergic to morning light) I looked into financial aide, apartments, everything to get ready for moving to the west coast. Then it hit me.
None of this is guaranteed, what do I do if I'm not accepted?
Thinking about this affected me pretty heavily. I spoke to my friends who live in Olympia and they recommended I look at South Puget Sound Community College. I checked their website. They have an extremely open admission policy. They have inexpensive tuition, even for out of state applicants (~4,000 a year vs ~30,000 to go to Evergreen as out of state.) Suddenly, it hit me: I can get into SPSCC, establish residency in Washington, get my 2 year degree and re-apply to Evergreen! When I realized this, I was so happy I cried. I can finally get away from the hell that is Wisconsin, and begin my life living in an area where I can be whatever the hell I want to be, which happens to be a journalist and web content producer (weekly shows similar to SOTG and Inside the Game) for ESPORTS! Well, I'm sure as shit not getting any sleep tonight, might as well work on my ZvT now.
