emperorchampion, do you mean the gallon/day thing of whole milk or what? I drink a pretty decent amount of milk in my diet. Probably go through a gallon of 1% or a little more than that per/week.
edit: Thanks for the response as well eshlow.

Starting doing SS a couple weeks ago and for the first time in my life, the gym makes sense to me. HOWEVER: it looks like I'll have to leave town in a week, for about a week and a half. I'm scared this is going to undo the (painful) gains in terms of finally going to the gym, the muscle soreness going away etc. Obviously, I'm going to try and go to the gym the day before I go, and go again the day (or day after) i come back. But If I can't find a gym I can just walk into for a few days, what exercises can I do that those muscles don't forget they're "on the clock"? I have two medium weight dumbells at my disposal, and obviously i can do weightless squats, push ups, probably pull ups. I do the original beginner program. Any help would be great, guys.

Will it undo gains? A week? Not really. 2-3 weeks, a bit. 4+ weeks you'll see decently significant decreases although the gains will come back fast. The good part is "once you have it" it comes back pretty quickly.

I have a history of restlessness/insomnia, and I've heard that this can be caused by eating before bed. Logically, this makes sense to me, but I just want to hear what you have to say on it. Does eating before bed make it more difficult to fall asleep? How long before bed should I avoid eating? What should/shouldn't I eat/drink? What if I'm hungry? I've heard it's harder to sleep hungry too. Also, unrelated question: How can I measure my body fat percentage? I've seen pages on the internet where I can put in my height and weight and it'll estimate, but I feel like that can't possibly be that reliable. Also, what is a healthy bf% range? Thanks.

There's a lot of things that make it harder to fall asleep. Eating may or may not have this effect. You can try it. There's other things though that may help more (see the OP fo the TL thread). BF% you can do lots of things. Most common is calipers

I'm finding it pretty difficult to gain weight while on IF + paleo (as much as possible) I'm not quite sure why you would try to do IF while trying to bulk.... It's tough to bulk on Paleo as is because Milk is the easiest way to do it. Nuts are generally OK, but don't rely on them for mass consumption.

p.s. I don't know how some of you guys eat this much on a pure paleo diet. As delicious as it is, I get so full after eating steak & potatoes. Not sure if I can eat that 4 times a day.

For the record (where I'm at) I did 260 without chalk, it was hard but doable. Did 270 with chalk... felt easy Did 280 without chalk, could only bust out 3 reps.

I started to do some smart cardio at times so it doesn't interfere with my SL workout. Just finished my second workout on dem deadlifts! Upped the ante to 50 lbs. (without the bar-weight, don't know how much it weighs). So everything is going good so far and I'm looking forward to my third workout. > Just one more question: do my rests between sets have to be 5 minutes? Cause at this level I'm able to rest for about 1 minute and I'm ready to do the next set.

The bar weights 45lb (if it is an oylmpic bar, which are like ~7feet long and have a ~2inches diameter for the weight plates). 2. Rest is by feel, at the lower weights you certainly don't need 5 minutes. But I think 1minute is just a little bit too short in any case, that doesn't leave much time to analyze technic in your head or whatever. But in general, the first few workouts should be short and easy, no need to make them longer as they should be. It gets harder soon enough.

Besides chalk I lift completely raw (no belts, no supplements, etc.) but chalk is just a necessity. I missed weights because I have sweaty hands and that is just a dumb reason to limit yourself. If the weights start slipping out of your hand just use it.

As delicious as it is, I get so full after eating steak & potatoes. Not sure if I can eat that 4 times a day. You need food to grow and sleep to recover. Just eat junk food if you can't handle so much paleo food. Eating some chocolate or a cheeseburger won't kill you.

If not, throw in some chocolate, ice cream, or burger or something. It's hard to force down calories sometimes so you gotta do what you gotta do.

Rip: You need to drink one gallon of full fat milk everyday. It's almost mandatory. Somebody from audience: I'm lactose intolerant, could I substitute yogurt for milk? Rip: Gallon of yogurt.

Yesterday, I had cheese cake, ice cream, and instant noodles but no pizza so only 1200 calories total from junk food. Usually I drink about 1L of milk a day with 2-6 scoops of whey protein. I need to get my hands on more cheesecake
