Well, there's always the possibility of playing the games and just rebroadcasting them at a later stage I guess. At least better than not letting the players play and just using random seeding (not saying that it was IPL's fault, they couldn't do anything about the situation and I think the way they handled it was pretty stellar).

Also, who hand Brood War on hand for an impromptu tournament? Do people walk around with BW on flash drives stuck into holsters for emergency LANs? maybe they were able to download it online somehow before shit went down XD ?
it was one of those jim raynor usb from collectors edition, hope that helps

Rofl I loved the sign
sc1 > sc2 lan > no lan
This is so true, you can't have a serious proscene without lan imo.

Cancel event? Players go home? There is a priority, players have to play even if there is no live feed. Sponsors will suffer but players are always first.

No, they could broadcast due to some improvised internet connection (maybe over the mobile network?), but the latency was too high and it was not possible to play on battlenet. so if there were lan, then everything that would have happened is the stream quality going down due to that improvised way of streaming, nothing more.

I want to give Boxer a hug whenever he plays BW, very different feel than playing SC2.

I have "Broodwar saved Esports" on the other side
I asked IPL that they should do showmatches or tourneys in Broodwar and they like that idea

TBH it sucked for Huk the second game because Jessica blinded him just when the double-drop was coming in. Much closer game before that. But still very cool to see. :D

That was after some sick defense from Boxer. The spontaneity of this happening and HuK's shit-talk made this event a lot of fun to witness.

Pretty fun event to watch haha
I was having my 10/15 imba qualms on longinus :D
I think this should be another pointer at Blizzard to make LAN available. However they want to keep their tight noose grip on everything in the scene, so I guess we'll have to wait until someone can emulate the entire server structure.

Man CA that was the perfect time for you to play some BW with a pro!
