As with other things imported from Halo, it doesn't make much sense with SC2 and baffles me why they didn't brought over an entire team (preferably EU as they have been nearly absent from MLG) instead of a few unrelated players. One might say that they invited a bunch of fan favorites. Also, what would be the point of bringing players from a single team over? I would think that if they really wanted to boot camp with each other, they could do it in a way that is more convenient than having to fly to a different country (or continent).

Hell no minigun is extremely solid and can take games of many people along with slush who is always advancing far in MLG events unnoticed.

I'm pretty sure that this isn't a competition, just a place for the players to train before MLG.

Because training makes more sense between people that actually know each other and have a reason to see them succeed. As it is may be just Day9 casting games between them, which barely qualifies as practice. Either way I doubt Bomber is in a hurry to fly a whole day to train with Destiny on not quite LAN. Of course they are being paid to attend.
