This blog has no real purpose, it was just what i thought was funny moment in the life of me talking about *dun dun dun* the end of the world!
So some of you may or may not know, but an asteroid is headed toward earth in 2029. We now know it should miss earth, but it will come scarily close, possibly even under satellites, and has the chance to hit us again years after the fact!
Its crazy, i know. I learned about it watching the Stephan Hawking into the universe series (which was very entertaining, at least for me since that kind of stuff fascinates me). Here is some more info on what is named Apophis! If it hit earth it would be devastating, equal to all our nuclear bombs going off at once, in one spot! But we will probably be fine, hell by then we might have asteroid blasters lol. It will be an epic once in a life time sight that for sure.

Which brings us to my story.
I have a friend, whom i work with at a little restaurant in gig harbor, Washington. He knew more about this thing than i did but we got to talking about what we would do if it actually came down to this thing hitting earth. Was a fun topic.
I personally would grab a beer, a bowl and some popcorn and watch the show on my roof with a comfy chair. Why bother trying to avoid it right? i mean, its a earth ending scenario, just gotta take it for what it is; Suggesting i would want to be right under it instead of dieing from whatever aftermath might ensue.
Amongst this talk i came up with the suggestion. If a asteroid ever was on a direct route to earth, and was going to take us all out, i suggested we dig a hole. A epic size hole, a hole abouttttt......
big... but deeper. We would take shelter within this hole, and ride out the rest of our lives. Within this hole we would bring all the necessities. Food, water, 10 million batteries to operated my epic power generator i have (which apparently would run on batteries), and of course our computers. What would we do with the rest of our lives you ask? Play starcraft 2 of course. Get epically gosu and reach skill levels no one of the former earth would have imagined.
He looked at me in the eyes, in awe of my epic suggestion for when the world would come to and end and said nothing but 2 words.
"No LAN?"
gg. D: back to broodwar it seems. Apparently blizzard really didn't think no LAN through!!
In all (somewhat) seriousness tho, if you knew the world had a countdown. Would you just chill with loved ones? Or would you go out with a bang - and not just from the asteroid.
also, how crazy white would we end up living in a hole? i mean seriously, i am pretty white as it is, i cant imagine lol.
Thanks for reading i guess! first blog.
^_^
disclaimer - i dont care about the no LAN - at least for the general public (non-tourny), so there's no b.net2.0 qq.

I'm just wondering why a hole?
Ofcourse I'm not sure how large this explosion would be, but would it not make more sense to take to the skies in some hot air baloon type thing, wait for everything to settle, and get back to rebuilding stuff and what not?
Or some strong astroid bunkers that would survive the crazy shaking, and prevent from any dust accessing our new home. I mean it wouldn't be the end of life on earth as we know it?

If shit hits the fan, enjoy the show Thats prolly the best thing to do imo ^___^

Well maybe by the time LotV is released, Bnet 2.0 will have lan support. Or maybe Sc3 will be out and we wont have to worry ourselves on such trivial things ^^
But in the event of an event, such as this, i will probably do my best to find a front row seat and enjoy the fireworks.
And even if it misses, it'll be back in 2039!

I always knew not including LAN was irresponsible of Blizzard but I could never quite put my finger on it. You've finally given me the ammunition I needed to make an internet petition to Blizzard.
j/k good blog I enjoyed reading it!

Though I gota think if an asteroid does hit earth it may be as deep but the crater will definately be wider... though where is that?

Idea: Send out an army of phoenixes to pull the moon in between us and the asteroid. Asteroid hits, we stay safe, Moon stays in orbit, everyones happy

Oak Harbor, WA is better.... Cool to see people in the "general" area

oh, someone else from gig harbor? town is lame. I much preferred living in Tacoma, more exciting. But at least this town is pretty safe, i dont have to walk around at night and worry about anything other than random high people giving out hugs or something lol.
i love the north west tho, the weather the last few weeks has been AMAZING!!!, and in a month we start the rainy season... for 9 months. lol
And i chose a hole because it was the first thing that came into my mind. Non of this is practical so i figured a hole would suffice... a big hole, with no lan. ^__^ thanks for the kind responses!
