Just a quick one folks. We've been diversifying the funding methods for SHOUTcraft Invitational to ensure it's financial security and larger prizepools for the players. All the ad revenue from my stream still goes into it and that accounts for about $1500 a month at the moment, but obviously we want that prizepool to be larger.
The first way we've done this is to introduce an optional Day9-style subscription to the channel $5 a month gets you ad-free viewing, a battlecruiser next to your name in chat, the ability to speak when subscribers-only is on (which is quite often, since it's infinitely better than the usual spam a JTV chat gets) and you are entered into a raffle every day to play a BO1 against me at the end of each ladderstream.
We feel this method adds value and gives people a really easy and inexpensive way to support the tournament without having to go out of their way to donate.
Our next idea to raise capital is the introduction of this shirt - [1] http://www.districtlines.com/33005-Ruining-Esports-Navy-T-Shirt/Total-Halibut
Proceeds from this shirt go directly into the prizepool. We do all our merch through District Lines which produces the shirts properly and to a high standard. Shirts are available in Red, Black and Blue.
We've got some other cool ideas instore, including a player-tipjar where viewers can "tip" a player directly for a cool player or simply to show support for their favourite pro, in a nice easy manner without reveal player or viewer's personal information. That's getting put together at the moment and will hopefully be ready for SHOUTcraft 3.
Once we have the playerlist confirmed we'll do the usual announcements. At the moment SCI3 is expected in Early September due to a large number of commitments myself and Apollo have in August.

Awful twisted exploitation of esports! + Show Spoiler +Only joking, keep up the good ideas =] quite like the shirt.

Oh totalbiscuit <3 I really do love you

Love what you're doing :D
Sadly I don't think I'd ever wear that shirt lol, maybe if I lived somewhere I could go to LANs :<

I hope the people who helped make this phrase popular and also own a T-Shirt website didn't have this idea!

ESPOORTSSSS. I'll buy one. Good idea TB. Keep rockin'.

Tipjar sounds like a fun idea.
I'd imagine that would end up raking in a ton of money.
Edit: You should make it something like half the money goes to the player and the other half goes to the prizepool for the next tournament.

Paid subscribers sounds like a good idea.

That feel when shipping costs more than the actual shirt.

Pretty sick shirt and concept of the tip jar. No more invitationals though.. open is where it's at.

Tb if you could find a way for people to give tips through their phone plans then maybe you could get more tips that way? Like charge it through a person's phone bill because not everyone who wants to help has a credit card. Cool initiative though. I will keep watching your stream as long as you keep streaming.

I'll look into how feasible that is. Paypal is of course the simplest way to get started but that has it's own problems. We'll look into a variety of payment options and the distribution system. We have about a month to get it nailed down.

Yeah I really hate it when that happens, getting a regional distribution partner is pretty hard for a 2 man and 1 woman operation.

As usual TB is awesome. One thing I noticed though TB, your sig still only includes totalhalibut, even though totalhalibut is your non-sc2 channel.

great ideas here john, i really like the "player tipjar". it's great to directly reward the players for being awesome and putting up a good show, so i definitely support this idea.
keep ruining ESPORTS the proper way <3 looking forward to shoutcraft inv. III
