I have talked about this tale before, but I decided I would write it out in its full glory:
I'm a feral/feral druid in WoW. I was MS cat and OS bear, but I often tanked for my 25m raid group.
Back in WotLK, we were struggling through ICC. We barely had Prof down and were working on BQ. My guild has a running joke that whenever I drink, our raid does better. Alas, that fateful raid night was a drinking day for me. It was TQ day at my school, where one of the dorms covers their entire courtyard in sand and puts up pools for people to chill in, then provides them with endless margaritas, starting at 11am.
Of course, I had spent all day drinking (literally, all day). I logged on ventrillo, joined my raid and set off to ICC!
When we got to Prof, I tried being the good officer that I generally am, and called out queues in the fight. "Watch out for flasks!" "Just on the slime!" "Back to the boss!" However, being inebriated as I was, my calls became slightly more muddled and not quite as helpful. When I yelled "Jump on the flasks!" the entire raid cracked up so hard in vent that our holy pally forgot how to breathe and we almost wiped.
Anyway, after a few attempts we got him down! We were feeling pretty good about it and progressed to the blood wing. The princes were by no means an easy fight, but I pranced around in catform and did enough damage to help the group.
When we got to Blood Queen, however, all hell broke loose. I had been tanking the fight in my 10m group and was used to going cat to spread out when she flew up in the air, then running back and popping bear and taunting her. Unfortunately, I was just supposed to be DPSing, so both the healers and the other tanks were surprised when I taunted her off of them!
Every wipe, I got lost and ran to the frost wing (we had killed the first boss), where I would enter the spider room and then complain on vent, "Where is everyone???" Our warlocks had to summon me back to BQ's room, but the whole raid was so amused by my drunken ramblings that they didn't complain.
Now, normally I was one of the top two dps in our raid, but my numbers had been less than par that drunken night. Suddenly, something clicked in my tequila soaked brain, and I started beasting the meters. The raid leader called for me to get a bite and my dps soared to the top! With the help of a pally bubble and some dots, Blood Queen finally went down... and I trotted my little kitty butt right off to Sindragosa's lair, completely forgetting that the guild takes a screenshot on first kills of end wing bosses.
After figuring out what was going on, I ran back, but was too late to get into the screenshot. Luckily, my raid leader is good at photoshop and managed to catch a shot and edit me into the guild picture (he is seriously the nicest guy in the world). Unknowning of this, I mopped around, then ran off to another party that I complained about missing the next morning (yes, I was completely blackout drunk for the entire length of the party and, truthfully, most of the raid).
Here is the screenshot and my guild leader's comment on it (I'm the slightly oversized cat sitting on the fire):
Two people up when we all went down, last hit was a Soulfire crit from the floating black Paynuus there on the left. 21k crit, somewhat resisted, 1800 overkill.
Great night guys. Sindragosa incoming.
Speaking of which, this picture is photoshopped slightly to add in a certain inebriated member who was so excited to take on the frost wyrm that we had to summon her up to the BQ's room more than once as she dashed into the spiders in the frost wing. When we went to take the picture, she was already sprinting her way over, so we know who's leading the charge to take out the Frost Wing.
