EDIT:
point of this thread: I created this thread/blog not asking whether I should seek medical advice, I am going to seek one anyway. But instead I am asking if anyone here who has experienced a shoulder injury might be able to lend some wisdom so that I may ease my mind till I see a doctor.
After doing some homework, I am starting to think that I tore my rotator cuff and am afraid I may need surgery :/
Two days ago I was longboarding down a road until I lost control. I fell and hit my shoulder/back pretty hard with my arms outstretched. When I got up my whole arm (from shoulder down) was completely numb. I can only move my arm, past the elbow, in a limited motion and my shoulder refuses to respond (cause of pain and numbness), little bruising but the area did swell. After about 36 hours later it seemed it got a little better ( i can move my arm via shoulder point a little more but not much, pain isnt as intense but still there) and the swelling has gone down.
As of now the arm is better. The pain isnt as intense and I regained some of my range of motion, albeit not much, and the "front" of my shoulder is stiff and somewhat discomforting. However, I am still very weak and cant hold any items with weight nor can I exert any force on my left arm to a great degree.
Am I worrying too much or should I be very much concerned?
edit: I can move my shoulder as long as i dont engage the muscle and use my other arm to move it around, hence its not the ":frozen shoulder."
As time passes, I can increase the amount of pressure on my arm little by little.

Something terrible has happened to me. I may be seriously injured.
Do I:
a) go to the docotor; or b) open a thread on TeamLiquid, asking a bunch of thirteen year old kids for serious medical advice?

There's entirely too many things that can go wrong with a joint for online diagnosis, especially by non-medical persons.
I tore my rotator cuff slightly once, and it didn't stop me from being able to move it, it just hurt like all hell. But you could have torn something, dislocated it, broken something, or pinched a nerve.
Go to a doctor. Anything causing significant pain and a loss of range of motion is in fact serious.

Def should seek some medical help, but as far as shoulder injuries go...
I have a torn labrum, unrepairable except for surgery. I lost about 60% of the rotation in my arm in all directions, pretty much sucked. After seeing a few doctors and doing rehab for a few months, I got more or less all the motion back, but repeated rotation, especially the overhead motion of throwing really tweaks it to the point of losing rotation for a few days.
If you want a diagnosis from someone with no medical experience, sounds like maybe you dislocated your shoulder, either way get to a doctor asap if you're still in pain.

Sounds like a brachial plexus injury
You could have a torn rotator cuff BUTTT that is the least of your worries since you have some type of nervous system injury. I wouldn't even say you have an RC injury until you get it check out.
Go see an orthopedic doctor.

Didn't understand all of it, but if resting position brings pain and you can't move your shoulder using muscles it sounds like dislocated.
On the other hand, dislocation usually brings a lot of pain and you can feel a difference with the other side (you can feel a small space between the acromion and the head of the humerus)
Go see a doctor!

Nvm.
But seriously after posting this thread, id probably go to the doctor, or call someone to take you to the doctor if its that bad

sry for the misunderstanding, redited to see if its any better.
@Sezai: I don't think its a dislocation. I am as of now, hoping, I just sprained/pulled the shoulder muscle terribly and some 2-6 week rest will be sufficient enough to heal it.

AC joint separation is different from humerus dislocation
