This is one of the more exciting groups for the OSL so far. In the first match, EffOrt is finally seeming to take the scepter from Ma Jaeyun as the top Zerg for CJ Entus, while RuBy seems revitalized after announcing his departure for Air Force ACE. RuBy also played exceptionally well last season in the Proleague, supporting Sea in helping carry MBC. His play fell off this season, and he announced his departure for ACE, which begins in 3 days. However, he seems to have gotten a good grasp on his TvZ play again, beating n.Die_soo and HoeJJa in the MST for the Avalon MSL. However, EffOrt has shown that he can beat the absolute best in straight up games, and RuBy should be scared of this. Kim Jungwu is sitting at a clean cut 60% overall winning rate, losing only 3 of his last 14. The set should go to three, but EffOrt is clearly the stronger choice here.

RuBy

The second set of the night puts Tushin up against one of his two lesser matchups. His ZvT has looked above average in recent memory, but his ZvZ has been atrocious. His overall play has been similar to his ZvT, where he's dropping random games against better players with the occasional upset. However, his ZvZ has been a failing point since last August. If July meets up with EffOrt, he can kiss his hopes goodbye.

Effort is finally realizing his potential- he's finally taking games off S-class players and cruising to the early stages of the individual leagues. I think he can still be one class higher.
Anyways, his current form should be able to clean up tonight; I'm interested to see what he has prepared for Ruby's TvP strategies.

On paper, EffOrt is by far the favorite here, we know that.

The only thing I see working for RuBy is he gets two TvZ Bo3s, which is far and away his best matchup.
The only thing I see working for July is his 14 OSL appearances.

I'm hoping that July can make it through this group, I mean I like EffOrt too but July is one of the main reasons that I'm an STX fan. As much as I want him to take it though I expect EffOrt will be the one to advance. He should easily take RuBy (who probably won't even be trying all that hard since he would be unable to play in the OSL should he advance anyway) and I have no faith in July's ZvZ. He may be awesome ZvP and ok ZvT but his ZvZ is terrible.
