I think "Wolf's Lair" would have been a cooler name than Wolfschanze, but w/e Map is nothing new, but a really good variant on a standard layout. edit: i kind of agree w/ gfire though, it really could use a couple chokes (anywhere)

Does that Zealot on the FFE actually wall there? It doesn't look tight.

Map seems kinda basic to me. All 3x ramps is kinda dull. You just walk wherever you want and there aren't any strong control points or really out of the way places.

"Wolf's Hair" would be a better map name imo.

Shut up guys have you even seen that texturing?? is so BW-ish i love it! the map is really clean just like a real desert, i would have added a couple more ramps in these highgrounds in the middle so the units can flow better in them, other than that the map is fine as it is.

This isn't a Daybreak clone, but it is a Daybreak sibling. This will play just like Daybreak, despite the differences in the layout. It's solid, and I like it. Though, I do wish we would step away from this basic " Daybreak" concept and try new things.

Well, I think the aesthetics are a bit lazy. You can tell the texturing took a little time, and it's good, but then the doodads are pretty sparse and there's literally nothing on the low unpathable areas / outside areas, just plain land with light blue fog, which imo is a big no-no unless you make the fog thick enough that you can't see the ground. He should definitely add in some stuff.

Well.. If you see Daybreak in this map, I can't Say any explanations...
These days, I realize I'm losing my sense of 1vs1 map.
So I'd like to make 1vs1 map from the very beginning.

I hope you consider this side

@Fatam Indeed about the borders with nothing on them, normaly i would agree completely with you, but for this map, i think that the lack of doodads adds more to the map than having a thick fog covering it completely, i think that it gives more desert feeling to it. About the texturing..... i have no hope for you fatam... stay jealous :b

It resembles Daybreak, but I think this map is actually a solid improvement in many respects. The differences in pathing between the natural and 3rd base will be pretty significant, and there are 2 different 3rd base locations. Also, depending on which way you expand, you'll want to secure a different watchtower, where on Daybreak it was pretty clear which one was "yours". This map overall looks a lot more flexible, and does after all have differences in overall proportions.

the 4 bases on the side are like daybreak. and the middle is rocked and angle too.

but i like the layout of the other 4 bases.

For the love of god, stop poisoning map making. This garbage has become the Michael Bay of maps. Generic in every way, with all the bells and whistles we've come to expect. I don't care if the metagame plays out a bit differently, can we start doing things a little differently?

Edit: The map is perfectly fine the way white bread is perfectly fine. We like white bread, but we already have white bread, can we get something else instead?

I don't think we need nazi reminiscence in this game - aka change the name - esp. if using names that are most likely associated with Hitler.

If you really want to use a name of that time sth like El Alamain would be (accordingly to the theme) more fitting ...

I think a brownish fog rather than blue, with some wind effects would work wonders, like the campaign mission on the tileset. Other then that, the lack of doodads and "Broodwar-esque" texturing looks fantastic.
