Dear Starcraft 2 Fan,
You might have seen the post by Lorning where he tries to say that Prime will win the GSTL. But I can tell you that he is wrong! There can only be ONE winner, and that will be the strongest Starcraft 2 team around: StarTale
Allow me to explain.
The Coach
StarTale'S choach Won Jong Wook is known, not Only for founding StarTale, but also for the founding of the strong BW team WeMadeFox. There is no doubt that he has a lot of experience and will make the important decisions needed to win a team league.
Terran
Choi “Bomber” Ji Sung
Bomber, former code A and MLG winner is known for his solid macro terran style. He all-killed NSHoSeo during last seasons GSTL and can take games of the best players in the world.
Bomber is one of the few Terran players that is known to have a very strong TvP matchup, but he can also carry his weight in TvT. Coming of a strong 2nd place finish at the Red Bull Lan, topping his group, defeating Taeja and steamrolling Squirtle.
Fans are confident that he is becoming the monster Terran he was hyped up to be!
It is a known fact that Bombers play can be a bit unstable at times, but there is no doubt that he will help his team get the needed wins in his role as ace.
Park “Virus” Joon Yong
Virus is the one and only King of Ro16, almost every GSL season that Virus has played has ended in the Ro16. When the New GSL format was introduced most people thought that Virus would fall out of the GSL permanently. He did indeed fall to Code A by losing to Killer and Jjakji and didn't make it out of the Up and Down groups. But Virus showed his skill by getting back Into code S and defeating MC and NesTea to advance out of his Ro32 group in First place.
Although Virus has only played for StarTale twice during the GSTL he has made some important kills in the group stage of last season by defeating Sting and Tassadar, resulting in a 5-3 win by StarTale over NSHoSeo.
Kim “Hack” Young Il
ST_Hack: The face of a stone cold killer. (Thanks to Blazinghand for linking the picture)
This Young 17 year old terran is a known Code A contender. Although defeating foreign hope HuK this seasons code A Ro48 he has not made it out of his Up and Down group.
He has not been used much in team leagues, but don't be surprised if you see Hack take some games for StarTale.
Kim “RainBOw” Sung Je
The runner-up of the First GSL season is the Captain of StarTale. Known for his Reaver harrasment in Brood War he shows a heavy aggression style in Stracraft 2. Although his results are declining, he still wins a lot of playhem dailies, having over 15 wins and even more Silver and bronze medals.
The experience and knowledge of RainBOw will for certain be important during the matches this season.
Zerg
Park “July” Sung Joon
The only golden mouse winner to participate in this season of the GSTL. This aggressive Zerg player is a specialist at busting wall-offs. Although last season of the GSTL was not very good for July, he is known for his ability to resurge. Winning the EVER OSL 3 years after his last OSL win. It goes without saying that he is also able to show that ability in Starcaft 2. This is July´s last year before he has to go to military service, so expect a motivated July going in for his last piece of fame.
Lee “Curious” Won Pyo
Former Code A winner Curious is a solid zerg player, recently rolling his Up and Down group with an easy 4-0 score. Having a very strong ZvZ and ZvT backed up by a reasonable ZvP makes him a force to behold in team leagues. During the 2012 GSTL Season 1 he had an impressive 66% winrate.
These stats say one thing: Curious is a very strong team league player.
Protoss
We have talked about the StarTale Terrans and Zergs, but no team has a Protoss line-up with the Strength that StarTale Protosses have.
Won “PartinG” Lee Sak
Some might say MKP is Sexy, but he is no match for the looks of the Glassestoss.
Unknown when he first qualified for Code A last November, he destroyed the competition to advance to Code S in his First try. He has not Fallen out of code S since thanks to his Ro8 and Ro4 finishes this year. Storming through all competition he is now known as the best PvT player in the history of Starcraft 2. He was trained to snipe MKP during lasts seasons GSTL finals but his brilliant PvT couldn't catch MKP off guard twice in a Row.
This season he seeks revenge, nothing can stop PartinG fighting for the price he should already have won. He is coming for you King of Marines!
Park “Squirtle” HyuN Woo
While PartinG might love his storms, Squirtle is more of a fan of lasers. Known for his Collosus play showcased during IPL 4 and GSL 2012 Season 2 he has been beasting it up lately.
His 2012 record consist of a second place at IPL 4, second place in the GSTL and becoming the runner-up in the closest GSL finals to date.
With this results he has been increasingly mentioned as Kong, but don't be fooled by that as Squirtle is also a player known for his great team league results, finishing with an 9-4 record last season.
Having the strongest PvP in the world backed up by a strong PvZ and a Solid PvT there is no doubt that Squirtle will be invaluable during the GSTL.
He has not been able to evolve yet, but expect him to play under the name of Blastoise after this seasons GSTL.
Jeong “AcE” Woo Seo
AcE completes the one-two-three punch of StarTale Protosses. While PartinG might have the best PvT and Squirtle the best PvP in the world, AcE might very well have the best PvZ.
AcE recently qualified for Code S on the back of some godlike PvZ, using an harassment based style to tear BboongBboongPrime apart. AcE proved that he is no slouch in PvT either, winning against MMA and MKP to claim his Code S spot.
Showcasing such great skill leaves no question if he can be valuable for his team in the GSTL. It only leaves the question: when will that moment be?
Quantic Gaming
There were a lot of requests to add the two Quantic Protosses to the line-up so here they are!
Johan "NaNiwa" Lucchesi
This foreign hero and villain is known for his outstanding micro. Making it to the Ro8 in his Code S debut he has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with. With his strong, micro based, PvP he has gotten great results. Especially because that PvP is backed up by a strong PvT. Even though Naniwa claims that PvZ is his worst matchup, he has proven that he is able to go toe to toe with the best Zergs in the world, defeating none other than Nestea, Leenock and DongRaeGu.
He has not played for StarTale in the GSTL yet, but he has shown that he can practice for more than ten hours a day so expect him to make a splash this season!
Kim "SaSe" Hammar
SaSe is the other foreign Protoss living in the StarTale house. Praised by his teammate Naniwa for his ability to constantly grind games in practice he shows the ability to play unorthodox strategies on big stages like the Red Bull LAN and MLG.
Just like his teammate, SaSe didn't play for StarTale yet in the GSTL, but his unpredictable style gives him a big edge in teamleagues.
Also, having SaSe in your team guarantees the support of the one and only cheer cannon!
The Quantic Gaming players will be there when StarTale needs them!
No Terran will escape the likes of players like PartinG, Curious and Bomber.
No Zerg will survive against Squirtle, AcE and Curious.
No Protoss can fight against the Power of Squirtle, Bomber and PartinG
With such a strong line-up there can be no question. StarTale WILL take the GSTL, storming and burning through all competition.
Team StarTale Fighting
Edit: A message from James Banks, the European manager of StarTale!
"I can't thank everyone enough for their kind words and support, just like you all my heart sank when we lost to prime in Vegas but our players are growing from their defeats and improving regularly, we want to provide exciting games and win this seasons GSTL, thank you for cheering for StarTale and please continue to do so"
