good news
edited 14:53 december 21st CET:
"Dear GOMTV.net users,
the GSL format has been completely revamped for our 2012 series. It now runs for over 8 weeks and includes almost double the amount of possible sets.
In line with this change, the Up&Down matches have been moved to the beginning of the season. Therefore GSL Season 1 will be beginning on December 19th with the Up&Down matches. These matches are not part of GSL November.
We have announced this change at the beginning of GSL November in late October in this thread: http://www.gomtv.net/forum/view.gom?topicid=208740&cid=0&kind=8
The original post has been edited as new information regarding the format have been confirmed and released in increments, the information that the Up&Down matches will not be part of GSL November has however always been there.
We have however noticed that, while the information was available in our announcement forum, many users were unaware of this change and assumed that the Up&Down matches were a part of GSL November as has been the case for previous seasons. It was not our intention to mislead our users and we have therefore decided to give GSL November ticket holders access to the 2012 GSL Season 1 Up&Down matches. GSL November ticket holders will be able to watch the Up&Down VODs at the GSL November videos page soon: http://www.gomtv.net/2011gslsponsors7/vod/?order=<ype=64&stype=
Meanwhile everyone may enjoy the Up&Down matches live stream for free in HQ until Friday 23rd as a little teaser for our first round of Code S of the new season starting in early January!
Thank you and happy holidays!

This thread is about the fact that the up and down matches being played at the moment are not included in GSL november
---
So this was the new format for GSL Nov
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft/images2/6/6c/GSL_Sponsorship_League_format_2011_November.jpg
This is the webpage for GSL Nov
http://www.gomtv.net/2011gslsponsors7/
Under videos and up and down you can find "Contents will be available soon."
But the matches are suddenly on GSL 2012 season 1?
Cmon, seriously? GOM what are you doing? Are you trying to mock us?
This is simply beyond disrespectful considering all the critique they gotten for changing rules the last second to fit their own purposes. actually i am really suprised to not find any other thread about it?
I paid for a product, and it was stated clearly what that product included. I waited with excitment for the up and down-matches.. and this is what i get?
edit:
seems there had been a post in the forums on goms webpage about this, so i was wrong

These players consist of 16 players who lost in the Code A Ro 32, 12 players who lost in the Code A Ro24 and 2 seeded players. 5 groups of 6 people will be formed. All players in a group play each other. The Top 2 of each group will advance to Code S, the rest will be Code A for next season. For the 2012 series the season now always starts with the Up&Down matches, the first season of 2012 will therefore begin in late December of 2011 with the first batch of Up&Down matches.
i feel tricked though.. but i guess this is to be expected

Wtf isnt it listed on the homepage as a recent video
Nvm misread the post

Wow, I was looking forward to getting home and checking out the games from today, was completely unaware my money did not include up and downs. :\
|
Miss read the statement...
Sure it will be sorted soon :D
|
EDIT: I completely misunderstood your post. Yeah that is retarded 0.0
|
I bought the yearly 2012 ticket but is annoying nevertheless. They should just include the Up&Down matches to November ticketholders aswell.
|
Yeah I suppose they should stick to the format they proposed but it doesn't matter much for me because I bought a light season ticket which is not too expensive especially considering you can split it up with your friends. Only disadvantage is that you can't simultaneously watch live, but it's not like I get up at 4am often to watch it.
I think this is mainly due to the fact that the last Code S season was long done and the Blizzard Cup kinda solidified that the previous season was 'over'. Those up and down matches do impact the next season only..
|
Well they probably should allow both 2012 season 1 ticket holders and GSL November 2011 ticket holder see those up/down matches to avoid any trouble.

thats been the case for every previous season though, that you get code s, code a and up and down matches for your money. so when i bought gsl nov of course i expected it would be the same as every season before it.

Bit strange, but even though I don't have a 2012 ticket I don't really care. Up and down after the finals are always a bit...meh. Not worth getting angry over imho
|
hmmm.. you still butthurt about your bf naniwa?
User was warned for this post
|

Just because Up & Down matches don't mean a lot to you doesn't mean its not important to other people. These guys obviously wanted to see the Up & Downs and are not able too.

i am not sure what you are complaining about, the vods are obviously not up yet? nowhere did it states that you need the next season's ticket to watch up the down matches

The VoDs are up, they just aren't listed under last season, they are the first videos of the new season.
|
The up&down matches are being broadcast free.
I can see where you're confusion comes in. I assume that they are available for free on gomtv as well, otherwise, you might want to complain then.
Otherwise, yeah. If they are changing products at the last minute without informing people that IS actually a big deal, even if the product is still available to those who paid for it. (Tho, i'd be pissed off if i paid and then they released it for free, kinda like they did with HoN, which I also bought. At least then I got all the heroes.)
|
i agree the ups&downs should be available for everybody who paid for GSL November.

the VODs are not free :/ says i have to pay for next seasons ticket

Isn't this only a problem if you were not planning to watch next season anyways? If you are getting a yearly ticket you want to buy them now before they go off sale anyways.

According to this graphic:
- Under the old GSL format, 2011 Up and Down Matches closed out an ending season.
- Under the new GSL format, 2012 Up and Down Matches will kick off a beginning season.
