This is a link I saw on reddit. I did searching on TL, and I didn't see it anywhere.
Even though this is not my own original content, I think it needs to be seen by everyone. If this has already been posted, and my searching just didn't work, then feel free to delete this post.
Basically, an Aransas (NOT Arkansas) judge beat his daughter for using the internet. He yells at her "ARE YOU STILL GONNA PLAY THOSE INTERNET GAMES?" and things like that.
Watch it, but be warned this is NSFW, and just all-around sickening
In the video, we clearly see the judge beating his daughter with a belt, constantly yelling at her to GET ON YOUR KNEES. The wife even comes in and says ROLL OVER AND TAKE IT LIKE THE 16-YEAR-OLD WOMAN YOU ARE
On reddit, it posts down below tell us this actually happened a few years ago, but the daughter was sitting on the evidence until "the right time." Well, the time has come.
This makes me angry beyond belief. The things I imagine this guy going through with some sick revenge and brass knuckles but I'll be real here and say this person should never be near the legal system, or near a child in his entire life again.

This guy's a judge?
Where is Aransas?
Texas.
As for the video, the debate seems to center around whether the punishment was accepatible. I've seen some people say it was ok cause parents are allowed to discipline their kids, and she did pirate shit. On the other hand, the dude is clearly leaning into it with a huge ass belt, she apparently has cerebral palsy, etc...
Personally I think that it would have been ok had the punishment not been so severe. I personally don't believe in spanking your child, but your choice is your choice and hey, plenty of people go through that punishment with no long-term issues. Seeing something this severe however is something different entirely.
"See all the problems they cause" No actually... only the problems you are causing. I hope she didn't get beat for playing starfox dinosaur planet (poster)... was painful enough to play.

Going to echo this. I can browse the worst of the worst gore/shock sites no problem, but this was a whole new level. I had to keep skipping ahead because I couldn't watch much of it at a time.
2004: Aransas County Court-At-Law Judge William Adams took a belt to his own teenage daughter as punishment for using the internet to acquire music and games that were unavailable for legal purchase at the time. She has had ataxic cerebral palsy from birth that led her to a passion for technology, which was strictly forbidden by her father's backwards views. The judge's wife was emotionally abused herself and was severely manipulated into assisting the beating and should not be blamed for any content in this video. The judge's wife has since left the marriage due to the abuse, which continues to this day, and has sincerely apologized and repented for her part and for allowing such a thing, long before this video was even revealed to exist. Judge William Adams is not fit to be anywhere near the law system if he can't even exercise fit judgement as a parent himself. Do not allow this man to ever be re-elected again. His "judgement" is a giant farce. Signed, Hillary Adams, his daughter.
Checking out her other videos, seems to be her for real. Pretty sad that this only gets out so many years later and only by his own daughter herself...
I hope she's in a safe place far away from her. I didn't and won't watch the video but someone said the wife also screamed at the girl? When I read the description I felt bad for the wife too but if that's true it's truly hypocritical of her.
While I don't agree with the reason, I see nothing wrong there with the immediate punishment. Yes (having now read the full context of her condition) that was too much. But corporal punishment overall isn't bad.
For me it was the continuation of the conversation that got me riled up. Corporal punishment is fine, I myself was raised with corporal punishment as a possibility, but the fact that he didn't let it go was a bit much for me. Honestly, everyone's going to freak out and say she should be removed from the house, but I think that's ridiculous. She got belted. Woo hoo. Getting belted hurts like a son of a bitch, but it's nothing seriously harmful.
And please don't pull the "mentally scarring" card out. It's not. I promise you.
