You turning out ok DESPITE the fact the you where spanked now means that you think that it is ok to spank children. Now i understand where you are coming from and i am sure you are a perfectly normal person, but somebody might "misunderstand" the concept and go to far, but then when is too far? and how does one judge? Also you can never base these arguments on your own experiences like you do, because i could do the same right? I never got spanked and hell i turned out better than ok, but i dont think either of us can attribute that to fact that we where spanked or not. The fact is that SOME suffer from this and some are being abused and the fine line grey area is what is enabling this. If people decided it was never ok to hit anyone people would gradually stop doing it end of story. It's not despite. It's because he was raised properly. Be it spanked or not, it's irrelevant. I was raised with PC and turned out quite fine. But would never hit my children. My father only ever hit me once for stealing money from him, my mom usually tried more often, due to my various idiocies. I have colleagues at work that have done far worse shit (jail worthy) and have taken decent punishments for them. But I haven't heard the guy say anything but: "Oh yeah I deserved it, I was an idiot who thought he knew it all. At that age no amount of talking would have gotten me off my high horse. Was making more money from illegal gambling than my parents, you think anything but fear would have set me straight?". Now he's one of the smartest, hardest working and nicest people I know. I know it looks grim watching that but it's not exactly bad. Some people just don't listen, specific to the very young and teens. I was the same and if they took away my PC I would have just read a book, not exactly punishment, or stayed late at school using the computers there since I had 24/7 access. The worst they could do was forbid me going out in the evenings but yeah, can always read and catch up with mates at school. Should learn to enjoy reading books, makes being grounded a far more fun experience ![]() I saw the film, finally. Yeah, he barely hit her. Probably didn't even leave any marks. And she expected it and probably staged everything to be sure she angers her father enough for him to not just slap her. I have no pity for such a creature, especially now that new possible reasons for her releasing this show up. Spoiled brat, 23 and still leeching off her parents. | ||
