Wow, just wow. Really disturbing. The guys' a total prick, surprise the girl hasn't run away yet. Insane...

The problem is that he can't really get prosecuted now because it is outside the statute of limitations. This is why I asked why it took so long to post the video. Something could have been done by the authorities. Now he will probably be removed from his position but he wont face any legal action.

Couldn't view the video, but that sounds terrible

i thought this only happend in the middle east :S :S ;S

Sadly it's Texas so this actually might get him even more votes.

Both the Judge and his dipshit of a wife deserve to be thrown in jail, let the general population take care of these sick fucks. It's even more sad to see how retarded this guy is, who is supposed to be a judge. Pathetic.

to a 16yo? are you kidding me? if anyone did this to me or my brother we would have hit this person (parent or not) way earlier, just because there is a point you have to defend yourself.

off course she did, but it's not like this is the only case in the US. There's probably thousands of these cases in the US alone that we will never hear about. And that's exactly my point, every1 is gonna rage about this single video, when in fact you should be mad about the entire problem.

Sadly, It happens everywhere in the world at all strata's of society.

Damn this is terrible, I hope this absolutely ruins his career as a judge. And according to Reddit this happened four years ago and she is just posting it now? Would have been better done ending this man's career way earlier no way I want someone that irrational being a judge for me in court.

What does age have to do with it?

I will pay money to see a Judge Judy grilling on this guy.

Wow, this is terrible. I don't know how you could do this to your own child, I really don't.
I can't think of words for this..

I think she saw what was about to happen and went and hid a camera in her room.

There are a few factors that make this beyond simple corporate punishment. First off, you dont beat someone over 25 times with a belt and call that punishment. If you're going to beat your child, you hit them once or twice, and thats the end of it. You dont go off on them swinging the belt wherever you please, and threaten to beat them across the face with it. That IMO is taking it WAY to far. This is more than punishment, this is assault. I mean, at 1 point they BOTH had a belt in their hands. Secondly, having your mother tell you to take it like a woman, is extremely disturbing. That is certainly mental abuse, and in some people, can lead to them growing up thinking its ok to be beaten, because thats what a grown woman does....takes it like she should.
All in all, what he did was imo most certainly beyond the scope of normal punishment and I hope he pays the price for being a shitty father.

id like to give that douche-bag a whooping he would never forget.

while I do agree that "physical punishment" isn't as bad as people make it out to be, there are limits and this guy goes over the limits A LOT. It's sickening, actually.
I mean, most of it isn't even about how he was trying to "teach" the girl, it was just "you brought this to yourself", "I'm mad at you", "take it on". It wasn't teaching, it wasn't a lesson, it was pure need to vent on her, the pure need to "show who is in control". There are situations and situations, and this is not a correct situation.
It's even sad that a guy like that is a Judge IMO.

It's even sad that a guy like that is a Judge IMO. Exactly. It's not the style of punishment that's bad, it's the delivery. Corporal punishment can be an effective way to teach lessons, but this was not a lesson.

And then you spend the night in the police station because if you retaliate that's assault. Brilliant plan
