- Your thoughts on making the round of 4?
I can almost taste the victory. It also feels like the super tournament is a bit closer.
- Was it hard to prepare for this game?
He is not an unusual player (**plays standard), so it wasn’t too difficult.
- You were in a bit of a crisis (**contain) in the 1st set.
I have had that kind of situation many times in practice. If that happens, most of the time, their units become spread out so I focused breaking out through one weak point.
- What was the meaning behind the ceremony after the 1st set?
I was hoping that if I showed a ceremony after the 1st set, my opponent would lose confidence against me.
- How did you prepare for the 1st set?
I designed my strategy to fit my opponent.
- Who do you want to face in the next round?
Personally, I have practiced a lot with aLive previously so I hope that he advances.
- It seems that you are quickly rising through the ranks, any secrets to your success?
I think I am practicing and preparing for matches well.
- Any last comments?

- 우승에 거의 근접한 것 같다. 슈퍼토너먼트가 좀 더 가까이 온 것 같다.
▼ 경기 준비하는데 어려움 없었나?
- 상대가 변칙적인 선수가 아니라 큰 어려움은 없었다.
▼ 1세트에 위기를 맞았었는데?
- 연습 때 그런 상황 몇 번 나왔다. 그렇게 되면 상대 병력이 분산되기 때문에 한 곳을 집중적으로 뚫었다.
▼ 1세트 마패 세리머니 의미는?
- 다전제에서 1세트에 세리머니를 하면 상대 선수가 위축되지 않을까 해서 했다.
▼ 1세트는 어떻게 준비했나?
- 상대 선수에 대해 맞춤 전략을 준비했다.
▼ 다음 상대 누가됐으면 좋겠는가?
- 개인적으로 한이석 선수와 많이 연습했기 때문에 한이석 선수가 올라왔으면 좋겠다.
▼ 상승세가 돋보이는데, 비결은?
- 준비를 잘 한 것 같다.

- Your thoughts on making the round of 4?
I wanted to face MMA in a match but since he lost in the 1st match, that goal cannot be accomplished. I think I was able to win today because my opponent was a bit nervous.
- Did BoxeR ask anything of you because you were facing aLive? (*BoxeR lost to aLive in the round of 16)
My build today was suggested by BoxeR. I think it went really well. In the 1st set, my opponent went a mech build so I had to improvise a bit. But recently, MMA told me of a strategy to beat mech so I was able to win because of that.
- You are the last player left for SlayerS, do you feel any pressure?
I am going to try my hardest to take revenge for MMA (against Bomber).
- Do you have confidence in facing off against Bomber?
I am even more confident for that match than for today’s match. Because I was able to beat him in the GSTL more easily than I thought.
- Your goal for this season?
I want to take revenge for my teammates more so than to win code A. Because MMA has fallen, my goal has changed a bit.
- The SlayerS terran line has been showing good results lately.
I think we have been a bit lucky. Within the team, I think the terran line is the weakest. But of course, I am sure the zerg and protoss players in the team may think otherwise.
- What do you think about the 1.3.3 patch?
I think they are nerfing terran again. I think ever since the beginning of SC2, they have continuously been nerfing terran. I don’t think the balance is that bad right now, so I wish they would just leave it as it is.
- Why are you so obsessed with MMA?
Personally, I feel like he is one of the best players in SC2. That is why I definitely want to beat him in a real match.
- Any last comments?
I want to thank Lots and GanZi for helping me practice and BoxeR for suggesting my build.

- 성원이형과 붙고 싶었는데 1경기에서 져서 목표를 상실했다. 상대가 긴장해서 이긴 것 같다.
▼ 한이석과의 대결을 앞두고 임요환이 특별히 부탁한 것이 있나?
- 빌드를 요환형이 추천해줬다. 잘 풀린 것 같다. 1세트 땐 상대가 메카닉이어서 즉흥적으로 대응했다. 얼마 전 성원이형이 메카닉 대처법을 알려줬는데 그 덕분에 이길 수 있었던 것 같다.
▼ SlayerS에서 혼자 살아남았는데, 부담감은 없나?
- 성원이형의 복수를 하도록 노력해야겠다.
▼ 최지성을 상대할 자신이 있는가?
- 한이석 선수보다 자신 있다. GSTL 때 생각했던 것 보다 쉽게 이겼기 때문이다.
▼ 이번 시즌 목표는?
- 우승보다 복수다. 성원이 형이 떨어졌으니 목표가 바뀌었다.
▼ SlayerS의 테란 라인이 최근 강세를 보이고 있는데?
- 운이 좋은 것 같다. 팀 내부에선 테란이 가장 약하다. 저그나 프로토스 선수들이 우리팀이라 다행이란 생각이 들 때도 있다.
▼ 1.3.3 패치에 대해선 어떻게 생각하는가?
- 테란을 계속 너프한다. 스타크래프트2를 시작한 뒤부터 계속 너프만 된다. 상향은 바라지도 않으니 건드리지만 않았으면 좋겠다.
▼ 문성원에 집착(?)하는 이유는?
- 개인적으로 정말 잘한다고 생각하기 때문이다. 그래서 꼭 꺾고 싶다.
▼ 마지막으로 하고 싶은 말은?
- 연습을 도와준 윤성훈, 김동주 선수와 빌드를 추천해준 요환형에게 감사드린다.

- Your thoughts on making the round of 4?
I said before that the round of 8 was my goal. But since I am this far into the tournament, I want to win.
- Would you say that you are a code S player disguised as code A?
Since it was my bad play that brought me down to code A, I feel like my skill level is still code A. When I get back into code S by winning in the up and down matches, then I will say that I truly belong in code S.
- Who do you want to face in the up and down matches?
I haven’t seen everyone who is in the up and down matches. But if they matched me up against MKP or MC, I think it will be entertaining.
- If you win code A, you will get to choose your group. Who then?
Of course, then, I will not pick a hard group. I feel like it is the victor’s right get an easy up and down match.
- The super tournament is quickly approaching.
I am looking forward to it since it will have the largest tournament purse since in the Open seasons of GSL. I have more desire to win that tournament than the code S. Since I have secured my spot in the up and down matches, I want to do focus more on doing better in the super tournament than the rest of the code A matches.
- If you make it to the finals (of code A), who do you want to face?
For the sake of practice, I want to face a terran. But I think a zerg should advance so we can stop hearing that terran is overpowered. (**he must not have looked at the brackets correctly)
- All the games today were long macro games, was that your intention?
Because I was sick, I didn’t have much time for practice so my hands were a bit stiff, so my multitasking wasn’t too good. It’s not that I purposely wanted to go to the late game but it just happened that way since I was lacking in practice.
- Any last comments?
I want to thank StarTale’s Tandongho and SlayerS’s Sleep for helping me practice. Also, I hope LosirA and Nestea play well in their code S matches. One of my friends Ki Suk will go into the military tomorrow so I hope he takes good care of himself in there.

- 전에 8강이 목표라고 했었는데, 그 이상으로 올라오니 결승까지 욕심이 난다.
▼ 코드A의 탈을 쓴 코드S라는 이야기가 있는데?
- 내가 못해서 내려온 것이기 때문에, 지금 실력은 코드A라고 생각한다. 승강전을 치른 뒤 코드S로 올라가야 진짜 코드S라고 할 수 있을 것 같다.
▼ 승강전에서 누구와 붙고 싶은가?
- 누가 탈락했는지 보지 못했다. 추첨으로 정훈이나 민철이와 붙게 되면 재밌을 것 같다.
▼ 우승을 해서 지명권이 주어진다면?
- 굳이 힘든 길을 택하진 않을 것이다. 우승자의 특권이 승강전을 쉽게 치를 수 있는 것 아닌가.
▼ 슈퍼토너먼트가 다가오는데?
- 오픈 시즌 이후 가장 상금이 큰 대회라 굉장히 기대가 된다. 코드S보다 슈퍼토너먼트에 대한 욕심이 더 크다. 승강전을 확보했기 때문에 코드A보다 슈퍼토너먼트를 더 잘하고 싶은 마음이 든다.
▼ 만약 결승에 오른다면, 누구와 맞붙고 싶은가?
- 연습을 위해선 테란과 하고 싶지만, 저그가 올라와야 테란이 강하다는 소리를 덜 들을 것 같다.
▼ 오늘 경기는 모두 장기전이었는데, 노린 것인가?
- 감기 때문에 연습량이 줄어서 손이 많이 굳었다. 멀티태스킹도 잘 안됐다. 후반으로 가고 싶어서 간 것은 아니고, 연습량 부족 때문인 것 같다.
▼ 마지막으로 하고 싶은 말은?
- 연습을 도와준 StarTale의 탄동호, SlayerS의 김성한 선수에게 고맙다. 코드S에서 강호와 재덕이형이 경기 잘했으면 좋겠다. 친구 중에 기석이라는 친구가 내일 입대하는데 몸 조심히 잘 다녀왔으면 좋겠다.

- Your thoughts on making the round of 4?
I was able to get revenge for my teammate Noblesse so I am happy.
- How did you prepare for your match?
It wasn’t too specific, but I practiced 3 to 4 times more than usual.
- What aspect of your opponent’s play did you pry apart?
He is someone I meet often on the ladder so I didn’t have to do anything special to prepare for this match.
- After that match, you drank some cider, what did that mean?
I had both coke and cider on my desk. And by choosing to drink the cider, I meant that ‘coca’ wasn’t fit for ‘keen.’
- You are showing a new ceremony for every time you win.
In SCBW, my role model was Firebathero. I think if I keep going, my ceremonies can become a role model for another person. I want to get to code S and do many more ceremonies. I think ceremonies can make the fans watch the games with more anticipation and joy.
- Your next opponent is Mvp.
This time, it’s revenge for viOlet, so I will try my best.
- It is all terrans in the round of 4.
Excluding me, everyone else is a big name player. I want to get over the tall mountain (that is Mvp) and make a name for myself. I think if I can beat Mvp I can win the tournament.
- What are your chances on beating Mvp?
I would say in between 30 to 40 percent.
- If you win, you will have the chance to choose your up and down match group.
If I get to choose, I want to pick the hardest player and the weakest player, and eliminate the weaker player then get into code S.
- Any last comments?
I want to thank bnet id ‘컴박사홍흑형’ for the build I used in the 2nd set.

- 도준이 복수에 성공해서 기쁘다.
▼ 경기는 어떻게 준비했나?
- 여태껏 한 것보다 3~4배 더 열심히 준비했다.
▼ 상대의 어떤 점을 파고들었나?
- 평소 래더에서 자주 만났던 상대라 별다른 문제없이 준비할 수 있었다.
▼ 끝나고 사이다를 마신 것은 의미가 있나?
- 콜라와 사이다가 있었는데, ‘코카’는 ‘킨’한테 안 된다는 의미에서 사이다를 선택했다.
▼ 승리할 때마다 세리머니를 선보이고 있는데?
- 스타크래프트1의 이성은 선수가 롤 모델이다. 나도 계속 하다보면 누군가의 세리머니 롤 모델이 될 수도 있다는 생각을 하고 있다. 코드S에 올라 더 많은 세리머니를 펼치고 싶다. 그래야 팬들도 더욱 즐겁게 경기를 볼 수 있을 것 같다.
▼ 다음 상대가 정종현인데?
- 이번엔 동환이 형의 복수를 위해 열심히 하겠다.
▼ 4강이 모두 테란인데?
- 나만 빼고 모두 네임 밸류가 최상이다. 큰 산을 넘어서 최상위의 네임 밸류에 이름을 올리고 싶다. 정종현을 이기면 우승도 가능할 것 같다.
▼ 정종현을 이길 수 있는 확률은 얼마라고 생각하는가?
- 3~40% 정도라고 생각한다.
▼ 만약에 우승을 한다면, 승강전 지명권이 생기는데?
- 가장 강한 선수와 약한 선수를 동시에 뽑아 둘을 붙게 한 후, 약한 선수와 붙어 쉽게 코드S에 오르고 싶다.
▼ 마지막으로 하고 싶은 말은?
