V 1.3: Chronoboost and OC are back in. Unfortunately Terran is really buggy. Stim Packs still cant be used, mule and scan ability are missing... but i'm working on it. I will send the newest version again to some1 to upload it on NA So far i couldnt find any zerg bugs ;-), but I'm sure they will appear when I buff zerg...
Status: [EU]: up to date [US]: up to date
Update: Ok, the first version is online on EU and NA: search for Metalopolis Forcefield Funmap
All units can do FF, but some abilities seem to be deleted or got lost. Please post all abilities, which dont work properly or are not featured. Non caster units can reg energy for 1 FF at max, but start at 1 Energy and only have half of the standard regspeed. Sentry got faster reg and higher max energy. Plz give some Feedback, if it is fun to play and may be at some replays.
Later when the Funmap is nearly bug free I want to import the data to a mappool and host a tournement. What will you get if you win? You want a specific fun map, I will create it for you or if you are a map creator too I will help you with your project.
OP: Hey Guys, in the TSL Day 1 cast, Chill and Day[9] were joking about the FF ability and what would happen, if every Unit could cast that spell. Does anybody know if there is a FFFunmap? I couldnt find one. I'm no mapper so a map I would make would just suck. So if there is no such thing:
Dear Funmapcreators, PLZ create one. I would really love to see different awesome Versions THX alot. MadChem

What? This is in no way related to the topic at hand.
Back on Topic, I would love to play this. Yes, Zerg imba imba, but more because what if LINGS all have FF O.O

The games would probably consist of terrans owning zerg and protoss due to the impossibility of zerglings or zealots touching a marine-scv army. This would be so stupid, it's ridiculous to talk about it aside from spending 5 seconds saying how stupid it would be if it happened.

You would do a run-by, forcefield his ramp, then proceed to watch his workers forcefield around his entire mineral line, at which point you would forcefield INSIDE the mineral line to disrupt mining time, at which enemy marines would forcefield your lings into a tiny little box and pew-pew you to death.
And then he would launch a counterattack, which would be repelled by your overlords, giving you enough time to build banelings with which to break the push, but then they get forcefielded, so you pull your drones and forcefield the natural again to buy more time.
I can see where this is going already O_o

Seems that I will need some help and it will be a bit longer until it works.
So far I edited the stats, abilities and buttons for all units. I want it to be a standard game but with the ff for all units as should be obvious.
Now the Problem, when I test the map all units have the standard abillities. What do I miss? Its my first map so plz dont hate...

Make sure you add both the ability to your units as well as create a new button for each unit and attach forcefield to that button.
There are literally millions of tutorials on youtube

I did both and I also varied the stats but everything seems to be normal. After changing the values I just saved the map. Do I have to implement the unit in anyother way too?
|
you should just ditch the idea of having every unit with FF and make every race able to get sentries.
|
When you change a unit, it automatically gets reassigned and designated as a copy in order to preserve the original unit. Like, if you change ANYTHING on a marine, it now is known as Marine(2), so make sure your buildings are using the new unit instead of the old one.
For your question: just saving it should work. No additional implementation necessary.
|
Or could it be a problem, that I test the map vs AI? I checked in the data manager, the buildings refer to the changed units...
