Korea's SC2 team Prime has merged with China's e-sports representative team WE.

Park Weh-Sik, coach of Prime, has revealed that they will merge with team WE in order to cooperatively prepare for the upcoming GSL 2011 seasons.

As a result, WE's Loner and Luffy will stay with the Korean Prime members and prepare for GSL together as a team.

This merge is a result of a long relationship between WE and Prime. Prime's DayflyPrime and CheckPrime have been a part of WE back in 2005 and the team put up good results in various leagues and tournaments.

Coach Park Weh-Sik has stated that 'I'm very happy to work with Chinese WE members,' and that 'everyone is happy to greet Loner and Luffy who have been in close relationships with the Prime team members since beta.'

He continued that 'I expect to see an improvement in the level of play after the merge, and I thank the WE members for making this happen. I hope to see both teams become 2 of the top teams in the world.'

WE's manager Fei-Lee (note: not sure exact name) expressed that 'I am very happy to work with the Korean Prime team' and has said that 'This will play a big role to spread out the SC2 scene in China.' He added, 'WE has been recruiting top Korean players when WC3 was gaining popularity, now WE is sending out players to practice SC2 in Korea.'

He also said 'Korea has shown to be a successful e-sports nation through StarCraft and this is a thing we need to learn. I hope to see the Chinese players learn both psychologically and skill-wise while staying in Korea.'

Edit: I'm an idiot.

Also the language barrier would be a problem. but then again, TL with oGs is working out fine. Hope to see Chinese players with a new play style different from anyone.

It seems China is becoming similar to Korea as far as e-Sports popularity, in the last year or so, I am shocked. Good for Prime, One of my favorite Sc2 teams for sure.
I never knew Check and Dayfly were part of WE back in the days of Wc3. That is pretty neat.

thanks for the translation

Unexpected, i see no reason for them to merge, other then kind of advertising for the time.

WE is a Wc3 team, unless they are gonna switch to Starcraft 2, it doesn't make sense.

Also the language barrier would be a problem.

i think its pretty awesome, WE has loner, and as they stated the prime members and WE members have been close since the beta

From the original article it looks like it's a strategic partnership rather than a merger.

This is pretty neat seeing foreign teams merge with other teams. I really hope they improve and make the next gsl even better.

I don't think language would be a problem seeing as how ogs-tl can communicate with each other through spunky and TL trying to learn korean and oGs trying to learn english. I'm sure there will be someone on the team that knows both chinese and korean to help translate
