Introduction
For information about the flavour (Battle Royale): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_Royale
You are graduating high school student from nation of Liquidia, and you are acutely aware it that the country is going through dark time in history. The entire nation is in control of one new single party, which everyone knows is thinly veiled guise for military-controlled dictatorship. Slowly but surely the government policy is becoming more oppressive, and any citizen that directly protests against the government is mercilessly cracked down upon.
One of the recent controversial law to be passed by the military is Battle Royale, taking aspiration from Republic of Greater East Asia who created said-act. According to the program one class of graduating High School will be drugged and moved into an evacuated island, whereupon they will fight their classmates to death until only one remains. Justified as measure against population and delinquency problem, it is in fact an effect measure to exert fear into population reminding them of their helplessness.
Honestly the said law does not concern you so much. With only one class being selected every year, the probability of you being unlucky enough to be chosen just feels too low to be realistic. At least you shouldn't have fallen asleep so soundly at the school bus if you were stressed about it- right?
Your somewhat drowsy mind snaps into attention when you realize that instead of at graduation party, you are in worn-down classroom with boarded windows. Rest of the classmates seemed to be waking up from their tables just like you, and the metal collar on everyone's neck catches your attention. You instinctively move your hand to discover that metal collar is also placed around your neck. Before any notable panic sets in, the door opens and well-dressed government official in party uniform walks in with soldier holding battle rifle.
"It's time to wake up, class. There are still one more lesson to take before you can walk away with your graduation," the man says, "your class has been chosen for this year's Program."
Everyone falls still as the implication sets in. Some person showed movement as if they were about to protest, but soldier quickly points his rifle toward several of said individuals, causing them to sit back quietly.
"Good; I am happy to see this class is full of obedient students. Now I'm sure you are all aware of the program, but let me tell you the basics just in case. You are in an island near Liquidia whose population has been evacuated. On this island you will fight each other to death until only one student remains."
"I'm sure all of you are eager to do the right thing, but just to encourage you lots into action we have taken additional security measures. For instance some of you might have noticed the metal collar on your neck. Those collars are explosive, and we can have them detonated any time by sending radio signal on it. So please be agreeable and do not attempt anything stupid, because this teacher will be said to have his students die ignominous death while they could have had true shot in surviving. These collars will also explode when you wander into Danger Zones. Now, at the beginning of the game only this school will become Danger Zone once everyone leaves, but for every six hour we will pre-announce additional area on the island which will soon become Danger Zones when we also announce the name of the players who died in last six hours. When 72 hour has elapsed there won't be any safe area anymore, so please be good students and be sole survivor before then. Alright?"
"If you understand, I will release you one-by-one with randomly selected items. It may be a powerful weapon that could off-set your weak strength, or... well- it will not be interesting if I tell you all the answers in advance. That is all for the lecture and it's time for you to take an exam of your lives. I hope for outstanding performance from all of you, class."
The students by called one after another in interval of few minutes, hesistantly heading out clutching onto the bag containing their food and distributed item. As you wait for your turn, you think about what to do. In order to live, you must kill and eliminate every one of your classmates. What will you do? Shall you submit to the dictatorial government and play the game, or bring down the program in your attempt to fight against this madness?
Welcome to the first Liquidia Program.
You will kill each other.
Information about Stats
* Strength: Will determine result of the fight.
* Stealth: Will determine the probability of opponent with malicious intent discovering you.
* Observation: Will determine the probability of opponent hiding from you, and increases the chance of finding an item.
* Aim: Will determine the probability of range attack and gun-shot attack missing. Everytime you kill someone using range attack this skill increases by +1
* Alertness: Will determine the probability of you counter-attacking.
* Mobility: Will determine the probability of escaping after being defeated in battle.
* Intelligence: Will determine the planning point collected when you plan for an escape.
Rules
1. The game is divided into two phases: Voting phase (day) and Action phase (night) which are 48hr/24hr long. Each phase takes 6 in-game hours. When all contestants had not been eliminated by the time 72 in-game hours had passed, all collars explode and it ends in government victory (this time limit is removed when rebel group succeed in removing their collars).
D1: 6 hours
N1: 12 hours
D2: 18 hours
N2: 24 hours
D3: 30 hours
N3: 36 hours
D4: 42 hours
N4: 48 hours
D5: 54 hours
N5: 60 hours
D6: 66 hours
N6: 72 hours
GAME OVER IF THERE ARE MORE THAN ONE CONTESTANT (Player having Government-alignment does not count as contestants).
2. At day phase, living players can vote whom they want dead by posting in format "##Vote: Player". No lynch is allowed. The player who has the majority vote by end of the dead will accidentally stumble into the Danger Zone resulting in his/her death.
3. At night phase, contestants can choose between these night actions: search, hide, attack, and plan a way to escape.
[search]
Look around for an item unowned by players. Player will find an item when randomly generated number between 1 and 15 is lower than or equal to his/her observation point.
[hide]
When the other player chooses to attack you, the probability of them being unable to find you for a fight doubles.
[attack]
You can attack an specific player by sending PM "I attack [name of the target]." You will fight with your target if you manage to find him/her.
[plan a way to escape] *only exclusive to players with winning condition 'eliminate all government officials'
Planning point (equal to your Intelligence) will be added to your resistance group's planning pool.
The order of night action is: Hiding -> Attack (carried out from player having highest Mobility to lowest. In the case where two or more people have same mobility, the order is determined randomly) -> Search/Plan a way to escape.
4. Two players are Government-aligned. They are not involved in the game (is not treated as contestant) and cannot perform night actions mentioned above until the contestant manage to remove the collars. As long as the collars are active, they cannot be day-killed and night-killed. They win if the Program is successfully completed (one contestant remaining), or if rebellion succeeds, be the only ones to be alive.
5. There are two resistance groups against the government, Anti-Program Resistance and Human Rights Advocacy Movement. Each night leader can recruit one of the contestants to their cause, resulting in their winning condition to change from 'be the last contestant alive' to 'eliminate all government officials' (this winning condition change is permanent even when leaders die). However contestants with killer-alignment, Government officials, or other resistance leader cannot be recruited. During each voting phase these two groups are given an opportunity to merge by having both leaders PM the mod of their intent to merge with the name of the other resistance group leader.
ex) APR leader: "I wish to merge; leader of HRAM is [player name]."
HRAM leader: "I wish to merge; leader of APR is [player name]."
When the planning point in pool of any group passes an certain number, collar of all the players will be disabled and winning condition of all players will change from 'be the last contestant alive' to 'eliminate all government officials' (besides the one with Killer-alignment). When two groups merge into one, their planning point becomes the average of two group's planning point.
6. Fight between players occur in following fashion:
Player A targets Player B.
Fight begins if the number randomly generated from 1 to player B's Stealth (*2 player B's Stealth if B is "hiding") is equal to or lower than the Observation of player A.
X= random number between half of attacker's Strength and attacker's Strength
Y= random number between half of defender's Strength and defender's Strength
If X>Y:
random number between 1 and double the attacker's Mobility ≥ random number between 1 and defender's mobility
DEFENDER IS KILLED.
random number between 1 and double the attacker's Mobility < random number between 1 and defender's mobility
DEFENDER IS DEFEATED BUT SUCCESSFULLY ESCAPES.
If X≤Y:
random number between 1 and defender's Alertness ≥ random number between 1 and attacker's mobility
DEFENDER COUNTER-ATTACKS ATTACKER; THE POSITION OF THE PLAYER IS REVERSED (the counter-attack cannot be counter-attacked)
random number between 1 and defender's Alertness < random number between 1 and attacker's mobility
FIGHT ENDS.
7. The player can possess two items at the time, and can only equip one item as a weapon. The equipped item will automatically be used in a fight (In a case of melee weapon, melee attack will be prioritized over range attack. In case of a gun, shooting will be prioritized over melee attack). The defender will not get strength bonus when equipped with ranged weapon. When attacking with ranged weapon, strength bonus will only be added to attacker's strength when random number generated between 1 and 10 (15 in case of counter-attack) is lower or equal to the attacker's Aim. However melee weapon when equipped will always provide strength bonus whether the player is in defending or attacking position.
Also, when gun is fired the gunshot will be heard by everyone (the shooter is anonymous).
You cannot change your equipped item in the Action phrase. Also weapons (strength bonus) are the only items that needs to be equipped; other items will work passively by just possessing them.
During the Voting phrase, you can also choose to trade items between any player you want by PM'ing the mod:
ex) A: "I want to trade my [item] with [player B]'s [item] (and [item])."
B: "I want to trade my [item] (and [item]) with [player A]'s [item]."
8. Player will determine their own stats after they receive the role PM. However, each role has minimum/maximum restriction on some of the points. For example, certain role will not allow one to choose Strength point over 6 but may require Mobility point to be higher than 4. Item is distributed randomly at start of the game when all the stats are in.
9. At the last Action phase (N6), when the collar has not been disabled, the game will enter an 'Sudden Death phrase'. ALL attackers will be able to find their target with 100% accuracy, and when the defender is defeated he will not be allowed to run away and is killed.
10. PM is allowed in this game.
This is closed-role setup.
