Squat 67.5kg 3x5 EZMODO Bench Press 47.5kg (was only supposed to do 45 >_>) 3x5 DIFFICULT. I got it but the last rep was the worst form you've ever seen. Gonna do 47.5 again next time I do bench press to clean up the form etc. I don't think I'd be able to go up to 50 next time really.... Power Clean 47.5kg (only supposed to do 45 again) NP NP. Might have to work on form because I think on some lifts I'm kinda swinging it instead of going straight up close to the body. Might keep it the same, see how I feel, I should maybe clean up the form because I don't want to start forming bad habits, but the lure of a bodyweight clean is very high so I may just push for it.
Edit: Oh, and I checked my previous workout logs, and 45kg was my previous PR (not 50, as previously thought, I stalled at 47.5 last time) So yay for setting PR's!

I'm still having some lower back pain when I'm doing squats. Just as a reminder, I mentioned earlier that all I have to work with is a smith machine. I lowered the weight 20lbs and my form seemed to be better but to be honest I'm not even sure if proper form translates over to this machine. I wont know for sure if the pain is from the machine or my technique until I can find a place to do it properly.
For now I was wondering if you guys know any lifts I could do to substitute the squat with while I look for a new gym. Thanks.
When I first started doing squats in a smith machine I got lower back problems and my form was absolutely awful. The problem i had was that I was so afraid of rounding my back that i overcompensated hyperextending it just a tad. I also had my legs placed too much forward and I had my feet placed in the wrong angle, the toes should go outwards and not straight forward and I had my eyes looking too much up. You should stand in a way where if the smith machine bar would be removed you still wouldn't have problems keeping your balance.
Made an idiot out of myself for the first time yesterday!
I basically tried to power clean 70kg, but my pull sucked so midway through I decided to just full clean it... bad idea. I tried to aggressively put myself under the bar too fast, which caused me to lose balance and fall back. Luckily I pushed the bar forward fast enough to get out of the way, but that was pretty stupid. It wasn't quite as bad as this:

eh bench usually restricts your shoulder flexibility. That is why people who bench a lot have trouble placing the bar overhead. It should not hurt you if your shoulder flexibility is fine.
Btw it's hard to talk about a pending tournament without our own SUB-FORUM to organize all the topics of discussion in here.
Anyway I'll be on battle.net as often as I can this coming week playing games or idling in the channel TLHF. I figure if anyone here is actually interested just pop into the channel and get some practice or discussion about the team league.
I can macro but I don't know crap about builds so I'm prolly not a good choice to play.
We got some master level players in this thread, right?
I'll play in that. just let me know who and when =)
Edit: for those 1 rep max things. Press I can 3x5 140 so I think i might be able to one rep 169. between advanced and elite Squat just did 315 last week. advanced on that Bench I haven't maxed on because I don't have a spotter, have done 225 twice between intermediate and advanced Deadlift 355 twice, don't think i could hit 385 yet, between intermediate and advanced PC i did 205 like 2 weeks ago, but that was after deads and squats, might be able to hit 225.
either advanced or just near it in every catagory! yay!

is there any scientific value of a detoxicifation (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detoxification_(alternative_medicine))? it sounds like BS to me, but some people swear by it and I even know this one girl who does it every year. she says its a "good way to start cleaning up your diet" and claims that she feels much better afterwards... I know fasting can be healthy (like intermittent fasting or eat-stop-eat etc.), but over such a long period of time?

I can only really speak to it through anecdotal evidence given by my friend. He doesn't use chemicals or take a hokey pill or do colonic cleansing or any of that though. When he detoxes he basically fasts for a week or two and drinks nothing but water during that time. Pretty extreme IMO but he swears by it.
It's obviously a great way to train yourself to eat less LoL. Because once you are done you have to wean yourself back onto eating solid foods. Start with a glass of OJ and a handful of nuts for a few days otherwise you'll puke from eating too much.
I guess it's sort of a tabula rasa type of thing. If you want to clean up your diet just totally restrict everything you eat for a while an start from scratch a few weeks later.
last night did -- squat 285 5x5 press 120 5x5 DL 350 5x1 then 2x2 pull ups 8 7 6 -- happy about this considering I was at 1 rep max like ~3 weeks ago.
press is tough for me. 2 shoulder dislocations seems to really hinder my range of motion. I felt a lot better the longer I went as I really concentrated on my technique though. If i focused on looking up at the ceiling during the lift the pain in the back of my shoulder went away.
In case you didn't find it in the wiki yet, when you fail you just try again next time you have that exercise. If you fail your 40lb press after 3 workouts, reset.

Yeah it's pretty much guaranteed to be the slowest increasing, look at what muscles are involved compared to the other exercises.
I'll chill on the TLHF battle.net channel when I can. Perhaps we should make a thread to possibly organize?
