The Deathadder is a great all-around mouse that is very comfortable for general use. This is probably my all-time favorite mouse, and I've owned more mice than I'm man enough to admit.
In case you didn't click on the link, there is a Mac-specific Deathadder with native driver suite etc. It's the 'old' 1800 DPI version, but unless you have a 30" monitor, 1800 is gonna be more than enough for your purposes. It also has 900/450 (iirc) DPI settings if you're playing older games or at a lower resolution in general. In addition there is a sensitivity bar in the Drivers that goes from 1 to 10 (where 10 is 100% of current DPI, and you can scale the sensitivity down from there to match whatever cursor speed you want).
You can also download firmware that disables prediction. You may or may not care about this, but I would suggest doing it unless you often edit images with the mouse - it feels much more natural.
Lots of good advice here. Just let me add one thing:
I would imagine that the MacBook Pro might get kind of warm when running SC2 for a longer period of time and it can get uncomfortable after a while to rest your palm on its surface when using the built-in keyboard. Also, I sometimes find myself sweeping over the touchpad with my palm when reaching for the keys over to the middle and right with my left hand. So with that in mind, I'd go for an external keyboard as well, especially since you can often find a good deal on a mouse + keyboard.
That being said, it works perfectly well to play without an external keyboard as well, but for me, it just feels so good to get back on an external keyboard after having played without it for a while, so I'd say it's well worth the investment.
I've actually been using a Microsoft Comfort Optical 3000 mouse. It was $10 so I bought like 3 of them. Still on my first after 3-4 years of use. I like it.
And yeah, USB Overdrive is essential for Mac OS X if you plan to do any gaming whatsoever.
Oh, and a word of caution for you: The MacBook Pro gets amazingly hot, even while doing absolutely nothing. Like right now, all I have is Chrome with 2 tabs, UTorrent, IRC, and iTunes (normal idle situation), and this computer is hitting 65C on both cores. It becomes really uncomfortable if you actually try to put it on your lap

Do any of those pages have a flash object embedded in the page by any chance? Any kind of flash being loaded by a browser causes my mbp to start up the fan.
Alright I think I'm going to choose between the Logitech Mini Optical and the Logitech Mini Optical Plus. Seems like it works really well and it's small and compact, really nice for traveling. Not to mention they're both pretty cheap. So between these two, which do you guys thing would be a better investment and why?

My macbook doesn't get warm playing SC2, but the touchpad is a huge pain in the ass. A keyboard is very helpful.

It is this one:
from like 2005/2006 ish. I have a little thermal mat underneath but it doesn't get very warm at all.
What? It doesn't get very warm at all? Wow, because mine burns up, especially if I'm playing videos for a long time. It gets to the point where it's almost too hot to put on my lap.
Do you mind posting your specs? I just want to compare yours to mine since you bought yours around 2005/2006

Yeah... I am rocking low settings.
Thanks, I bought mine around 2007, we have the same specs, which is cool because it means I can play SC2 on my Mac even if it has to be low settings :D
So would you say getting bootcamp or another windows program software would be better than playing it through Carbon? And is the Logitech Mini Optical Plus better than the original?
I rock SC BW and WC3 on my macbook running my Razer Lachesis without the drivers and I'd say duel boot windows. The way that OS X refreshes it's mouse makes it really shitty to play BW on.
which gives me complete linear input, with no acceleration whatsoever. i hope that helps to clarify.

there is no other way to play starcraft II beta on the mac than bootcamp right now, BUT mac beta should arrive in april afaik. my guess is, based on the history of blizzard games, scII will run perfectly fine in os x.
