I prefer it to be wired but if wireless is the best I can go with then I'll just go with that. I especially need it because I plan on heading to that Texas TL Meetup this summer haha.
Thanks a lot in advance.

Also can we please not turn this thread into a mac vs pc debate? We have thousands of them already. Thanks ![]() EDIT: I use a wireless logitech mouse and keyboard with my mbp, and it works fine. I managed to play a game of HoN with them about a week ago and there were no oddities. EDIT2: I should also add that most people I know wouldn't consider buying a gaming mouse, so don't take my word as everything heh

Any specific logitech equipment you would recommend?Edit: Do you recommend also investing in a keyboard as well? Do you think it would serve my gaming that much more? 1. never use any mouse from apple. if you get one with your imac or so, sell it on ebay without using it. people will almost pay the same price for it as if it was new and boxed. 2. you can use any usb mouse you want as long as you… 3. …never use software/drivers from the manufacturer of your preferred mouse. 4. really don't use any apple mouse. these things are ergonomic disasters. let me explain #3: there are logitech drivers, which suck and don't support all of their recent mice and/or all their features. there are razer deathadder drivers, which are just plain buggy and so on etc. the lack of any decent manufacturer drivers has spawned two very usable shareware drivers, which will work with any usb mouse, give you total control over the button configuration, scroll wheel settings etc. these are in no particular order: - USB Overdrive http://www.usboverdrive.com/ - Steermouse http://plentycom.jp/en/steermouse/index.html these are all shareware, so just see which one works best for you. i would recommend steermouse over usb overdrive, but that's just personal preference. and then there is: - ControllerMate http://www.orderedbytes.com/controllermate/ which is an entirely different beast and much more powerful (as well as complicated) then anything else. but after fiddling around with every driver and mouse fix on a mac, controller mate is the only way to permanently fix (read: eliminate) the stupid mac mouse acceleration. if you're picky about stuff like that, it's the best solution even if it will take you some time to set up.

I don't have any specific to recommend unfortunately, I don't know enough about the different models. Regarding keyboard, I know that I couldn't play games on the laptop keyboard, I'd mess up my keys way too much. Also by getting a keyboard it'll be windows layout, so if you're running your games in a windows partition or through virtual machine then it'll be more natural for you.

Nice! I had no idea that the shareware drivers existed, thanks.

I'm likely getting a Macbook Pro this summer for college, but I wanted to make sure to at least get myself a mouse so that I can play BW/SC2 properly. So! I was wondering if anyone out there knows of any good mouses that are for Mac or are Mac compatible. I prefer it to be wired but if wireless is the best I can go with then I'll just go with that. I especially need it because I plan on heading to that Texas TL Meetup this summer haha. Thanks a lot in advance. ![]() I rock SC BW and WC3 on my macbook running my Razer Lachesis without the drivers and I'd say duel boot windows. The way that OS X refreshes it's mouse makes it really shitty to play BW on.

OSX What is so good about OSX? (That is not a troll question -- I tried to use a Macbook for some time and found the OS rather awkward. However I know some people who are Mac fans, but they can't really explain what it is they like so much. "it's good because it's so good" is all they say.)

What is so good about OSX? I used to hate OSX a lot, but after I used it a lot during an internship I realized that the majority of my dislike was due to being unfamiliar with it. To me OSX has a lot of little things that just build up and make the day-to-day things about using the computer more enjoyable. There are a lot of neat things about the UI and I'm fine with having two OSes on my machine, just like I have two different pairs of shoes for doing different things. My advice in trying out OSX though, is to do it with someone who knows it, so that they can help you ^__^
