For playing games, I'd go for Bootcamp. Parallels and VMWare are virtualization solutions that are great for getting work done when you need a Windows application, but I wouldn't recommend it for games. The main difference (in a very simplified description) is that under virtualization, the OS cannot fully use your computer's resources. I use a Salmosa out of the box. No problems. I don't have additional drivers, but then again I am no fan of fancy functions on my mouse. As of Apple mice, my favorite is the old Pro Mouse, I use it for daily tasks by it's no good for SC having only one button. The Mighty Mouse I could never get used to. I do like the current Magic Mouse, but wouldn't use it for games. I used to hate OSX a lot, but after I used it a lot during an internship I realized that the majority of my dislike was due to being unfamiliar with it. To me OSX has a lot of little things that just build up and make the day-to-day things about using the computer more enjoyable. There are a lot of neat things about the UI and I'm fine with having two OSes on my machine, just like I have two different pairs of shoes for doing different things. My advice in trying out OSX though, is to do it with someone who knows it, so that they can help you ^__^ I'll add by saying that overall, OSX is just a smoother ride. Overall the system behaves more consistently and is non intrusive with annoying warnings and dialogs. It also helps that application developers do a good job in following the user interface guidelines, preserving th consistent look and feel. It's the kind of intangibles you don't miss until you don't have them. Overall, OSX is easier to learn. The hard part is unlearning Windows and its quirks. An example is the common complaint of "not using enter to open a file".

If you're gaming Bootcamp is the only option. When running Fusion/Parallels you must split your RAM amongst them, which is not optimal for gaming. Also, I'm not exactly sure what does it, but there is slight lag between your actions and when they're issued while running parallels/fusion(tried it out with Broodwar).

It's better specifically for compatibility. Ease of use, I must say it is a bit annoying to restart 1-2 times a day. But it is definitely better for gaming. I've used both Parallels and Fusion, and for simply running low-requirement applications, it works beautifully. Seamless integration, if it works ideally.

Google for Click2Flash. It blocks Safari from loading Flash unless you explicitly say so. It also helps to watch Youtube without Flash and easily download videos.

cd of Windows XP at the moment so I don't have use for getting bootcamp at the moment. I'll likely get it when I get my MBP though. As for the mouse, I'm not sure how I feel about the efficiency of playing SC with a large mouse, such as one where your palm rests. I use the magic mouse now. It's definitely not a gaming mouse but I work with what I have. I'm trying to decide between a Logitech Mini Optical (Plus?) or a Razer. Leaning more toward the Logitech though.

Anyways I've been using a logitech mx518 mouse since I was 14 or 15. I am 21 now and I still refuse to use another mouse. Obviously thats my vote.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826104178&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-_-InputDevices-_-NA-_-NA

That is a wonderful choice that's what i use on my MacBook Pro. and i use a Diamondback 3G and my LMO for my PC. I will say that the drivers a a disaster for Mac, but the LMO works like a charm.
