What do you think of Elementz' new guide site? I have skimmed through a guide or two and they cover everything from basic stuff to champs. They have videos and their guide design is really appealing once you've figured it out. I'm really enjoying this so far.
While some have been quite good, I've been noticing some inconsistincies/contradictions between the "quick guide" and the other tabs in others. Item recommendations are sometimes completely different or else very unclear, as well as runes/masteries/ability leveling.
example: SYDTKO gangplank- Philostone/Ionian Boots as core on "item builds" after showing cloth+5 -> boots -> doran's on the quickguide. :/ The "quickguide" tab throws in Infinity Edge and LW before any tankiness while the "item build" at least recommends Atmogs first unless you are really fed. About Ionian Boots he says "Boots of Lucidity are probably the best boots to get on Gangplank, I don't see taking any other option on him" but he shows Ninja Tabi in the quick guide.
I think that's in part an issue from how they try to simplify things too much, giving just one list of items to build. The site isn't really formatted to allow that, eg, most characters won't be getting the same boots every single game.

You just had to break the awkward silence that followed, did you? =(
I see you edited out the random all caps I shouted when I joined. I can't even remember what it was.
It was "NAUTILUS MAXIMUS".
And now I feel bad for remembering that. Oh, welp. =P
I think I'll still enjoy solomid vs the new pro website because it can give you ideas on things none of the pro players are really trying or if they do wouldn't write about. Though I'm surprised how many pros are writing guides for that site.
lolpro looks really easy to navigate. After solomid changed, i had a hard time going through everything and finding my way around. still gonna go with tl though if i want to learn something.
Honestly I don't think the site offers anything special because "pros" wrote the guides. The Rammus guide is pretty bad -- 2 gp10 sunfire as a core build? GA as an endgame item? Cloth 5 pot as an opener? These are horrible recommendations. The information on the quick guide section doesn't match up with the information in the more specific sections. It seems like they're trying to have the quick guide tab be an at-a-glance version, so then why are they different? Sometimes its the items that don't match up, sometimes its the masteries, etc.
Frankly it seems they're trying to hard to force every champ into a single guide and ending up with subpar guides because of it. When you have multiple recommended or at least approved guides to look at, you can see what different people do and try out different things to see what works best for you. Even the explanations are pretty bad.
"Rammus should almost always try to gank the lane with the highest damage from their abilites so that they can effectively use the crowd control from Puncturing Taunt." That's so generic and vague that it's useless. What does anyone glean about how to play a champ from being told to gank a lane that does tons of damage?
Another complaint: some guides are written by "pros" that either don't play the role of the champion or could at best be considered semi-pro, e.g. Sydtko writing a Cass guide with a pretty crappy item build. Try guessing who wrote the Garen guide without looking first.
Are there any streamers that play mainly supports? I noticed that during the last 20 or so games, i have won like all 15 where i got solo lanes, and lost all 5 where i played support. There were couple of games where the AD was just plain old Crazy, but when all my supports are in the 45-52% region, i cant help to think that i need some help in that area.

I read the pobelter fizz guide and it's just terrible. Like seriously so awful, I didn't learn a single thing. "Fizz sucks in lane. In teamfights Fizz is supposed to spam spells and 1-shot their carry. Fizz should use E to dodge projectiles like leblancs" Like I'm looking to see a high elo guide that describes some high elo gameplay and not a description of the champion's abilities o_O

I was under the impression that Doublelift knows/knew how to play Garen seeing as he ended up running him at dreamhack and the only changes I can recall from then till now have been his numbers.
Lolpro guides are terrible because "pros" atm are mainly random guys grinding games. Very few of them are good theory craters or even have a good understanding of builds.
And having one guide per character sounds stupid. Critplank/Tankplank? DeathCassio, WotArmog Cassio? Gunblade Jax/Bruiser Jax?
lol, do people purposely play bad when they get paired with Saint?
The only game I saw him win tonight is one in which he fed as support Ashe. Erry other game his team just dies, and dies, and dies.... and dies some more.
As a jungler, the worst feeling is being like "Damn my bot lane losing. Damn, my top lane losing too.... Fuck, bot lane getting pooped on." There is literally nothing you can do but sigh and take the loss.Atleast saint doesn't get hated on and blamed for the loss after the game because thats how it usually works for me.
