I am running for mayor, and this is why you should elect me.
1) Democracy-I will hold an unofficial vote for who I will lynch.
2) Activity-I will actively help hunt scum and guide the town.
3) Transparency-I will reveal exactly what powers I get from being Captain.
4) Accountability- If, for any reason, I break any of the above promises, I expect to be lynched ASAP.
I want to put the power in the town's hands.

DON'T CLAIM TO SANDROBA. Don't claim to ANYBODY, it's DAY ONE. Day two isn't right either. Don't be stupid damn it.

I want to put the power in the town's hands. All you need to do now is convince me you're town!

I'm not lying. I'm not asking for information with nothing in return. I did find a mechanic that can confirm some players. If anyone wants to talk to me about it I can explain in skype.

I would like our future captain to be Democratic in their Lynch...
This makes it alot less likely for the power to be abused by Mafia..

That's the point.
It's impossible to know who is town this early in the game.
The next best thing is to set it up, so that in the unlikely chance that I am scum, the first thing that happens after I do something that's not pro town is the lynching of me.
That's basically a free scum.

He's trumping the mechanic. It confirms nothing except some of the roles people claim. I still believe he's town, though.

I don't want a democratic leader who can lynch whoever the masses say and then shrug his shoulders and say "oops, he was town, not my fault I did what you guys said!". I want a captain who is going to lynch his strongest day 1 scum read, and then take responsibility for the result, one way or another.
Transparency is overrated, you keep the town on a need to know basis, especially in a PM game. Come on people, has no one here read Ver's guide after the debacle of Death Factory Mafia 2? I'll be transparent in my decisions, but I'll be damned if I'm going to share everything I know or learn for the sake of "transparency"
Tell me MrZentor, say being captian made you into an Anti Scum Paranoid Gun owner, would you share it with the town for the sake of "transparency", thus sacrificing the power of the role?

That's basically a free scum. That's assuming you're a really dumb scum. It's quite easy to look as if you're pro-town after the fact, and whatever powers the mayor gets, I want them in the hands of whoever I have the best town read on. Sandroba and GM have done a pretty good job so far of convincing me they're town. It's your turn.

Sometimes in closed setups scum are given couple of roles that Town has. Keep that in mind. Just because one knows about some role does not mean one has it self.

Let me throw this out there. I have a few claims already. The power roles in this game are most likely unique due to nature of the theme. There are back-up roles. This is a nightmare for mafia if I can "confirm" more people.

And one person who goes off their day 1 reads is better?
So if they Lynch a townie they can just shrug their shoulders?
A Democratic approach allows us to view everyone's scum hunting ability.. not just the captain..

It's not about scum hunting. It's about taking stances.

What? That doesn't make sense. Anyone can scumhunt without needing some vote that the Captain needs to adhere to at the end of the day.

How are people viewing sandroba as 'confirmed town'...
Serious question... Cause he is coming off really suspicious to me...

Yes, yes it is, because we all still have to tell him who we would like to see lynched. If they lynch a townie, they have a ton of pressure on them, since they made a bad call, and we can dismantle their reasoning.
Everyone still has to scumhunt and try to present a case that the captian is going to see and say "fuck, he's right", but that way we don't have scum lynching an easy target who everyone agrees "is acting scummy" with no consequences.
