RAGEQUIT.tv Primary Stream
Originally started as /v/craft by GrizzlyAdam, three new members joined: Abyss, Atticus, and Sheekthief. Currently, as GrizzlyAdam and Atticus are busy with IRL obligations, Abyss and Sheekthief have taken over Ragequit and continue to cast. While Ragequit.tv was being developed, several other casters join, including prodiG, Ipp, Wolf, and Stropheum.

+ Show Spoiler +In order to stream via uStream I use Adobe Media Encoder, this is much more complicated for a number of reasons. First of all you need to specify a driver to record your screen, second it only lets you choose one audio input so you need to combine your microphone and audio port, and thirdly it is a multi purpose tool and not just for ustream (lots of configuration). In order to record my screen; I use VhScreenCap. Oddly enough there is a setting inside VH Screen cap that "optimizes" the quality; it is on by default and looks like it should be on. However with it on I average about 5-6 FPS while with it off I go up to the 30's. ![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/MU4NQ.png) Now to combine the audio and microphone I use a program called "Virtual Audio Cable". This program will install a virtual sound device and by opening "Audio Repeater" twice you can echo both your microphone and speakers onto that device! Note: Windows Vista/7 users may have difficulty as this device is not signed and may not install properly. To get around this I just used "ReadyDriver Plus", it isn't as clean as disabling through GP/Registry/etc but was quick and easy. Finally for the last part of the puzzle; Adobe Media Creator. Of course you will need to do the standard ustream setup (http://www.ustream.tv/higher-quality) but here are my additional settings. When streaming it is a good idea to ensure no one on your network is running any torrenting/p2p applications as these will tend to lagg your stream. ![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/g4J4E.png) In order to record videos, I use Fraps it does a great job pretty much out of the box. However there are a few things you should know about recording in hi-def. - Every minute is roughly 1.5 GB - It puts so much stress on your hard drive that running SC2, Windows, and Fraps off of the same hard drive will lagg your computer. You really need to dedicate a seperate hard drive just for Fraps. - It splits files up every 3.9 GB so you will need to combine them Hardware! - Micrphone: Blue Snowball, it is the one Day9 uses aswell and is amazing! - Webcam: Microsoft Lifecam Cinema HD - Processor: Intel i7 2.67 ghz; Quad core. - Videocard: Nvidia GTX 260 (Have a personal thing against ATI) - Ram: 9gb DDR3

Thanks for the input. Apparently my mouse was fluid but the gameplay was choppy at first; not sure how that works. But it did seem to fix itself in time to see the DarkTea AI pull out a fairly impressive move. Sent SCV's and BC's (thinking it would just attack the BC), it actually fungal'd my scv's an sent a buncha corrupters at my BC. Additionally it doesn't seem to use any money cheats.
Anyways, thanks for watching my first games my apologies for the lag.

hey, this stream's gotten a lot better since it started, they even had drool now, I don't get why they're not featured yet. They usually have good stuff to cast, and plenty of events, and get a ton of viewers without being featured, so why not help them out and bump them up?

Love the games casted, but I just have to say, I absolutely LOATHE your usage of the word greedy. You use it in completely incorrect contexts. For example, MoMaN went all-in in a game, and you said, MoMaN did a decent amount of damage, I think he can drone up now. Nope! He's building more units, being really greedy at the moment and committing. Another time, a stalker was poking out when it shouldn't be attacking lings, and you made the comment, "this stalker is being way too greedy right now, needs to retreat." I understand what you're trying to say, but it's simply incorrect, especially since the term "greedy" already has a definition in RTS gaming.

I admire people whom put many hours into their hobby and wants to share it with the community...but discrediting other people whom like you just wants to share their passion with the rest is so unforgivable. You did mention HDstarcraft (Alex) about his reputation is not "deserved" or something along the line...
I mean you can have whatever opinions but some people might be offended. Perhaps be more considerate with your remarks/opinions.

yes, sorry. i overused it today, you're correct about the wrong use in the moman game. in the stalker situation i have to disagree with you, since the stalker was moving in far to more damage done, which can backfire horribly --> greedy. maybe i'm wrong though, still getting better at english

oh did i say that it was not deserved? that must've been a mistake on my part. he put a lot of effort in but started to slack castingwise really hard and also seems to rest on his early beta reputation right now without really doing too much. i didn't want to badmouth him but i don't deny that i kinda dislike his casting.

Joining Elfi vs. Select in the pokeridol tourney and then leaving in the middle of the game for another game because you like the players in that one better? i did explain it to elfi and i don't know what the big big deal is. i mean yeah, it is kind of disrespectful but 3k people wanted to see TLO who hasn't been competing in quite some time, so in my eyes the decision was justified.
also: i could've just waited for TLO in the bnet homescreen but i decided to catch a game to bring some entertainment, with the eyes still on the TLO game. so... yeah i guess haters gonna hate but i'm content with how it went hope you enjoyed the cast (and it's still going on anyways).

"Sheekthief" (or w/e his name was) got a bit too tiered after a while, as did drooL. Not that I wouldn't have been after only casting TvT for like 5 hours straight.. BUT a tip is to always try to have a co-host, that might spice things up!
And also - Ditch own3Dtv tbh. Lagging and downtime every other day. Switch to anything but livestream (ie justin or ustream)! GL HF GG WP piz
Edit: Also, when the US internet obviously can't support streaming an EU game - BUT the viewers still want to see a live game - Please concider accepting my help, as I nomerous times offered to stream on my Swedish (ie European) 100/100 mbit connection and fairly capable computer (i7 quad core, 8GB memory, 2GB gfx).
PS. If you're planing on streaming replays, don't mention the results prior to actually casting the replays. Thanks!

Own3d.tv is the best choice. We used to use Ustream.tv and my computer honestly wasn't able to handle this kind of quality via FMLE. Xsplit (the program used for own3d.tv) though is well optimized for game streaming which allows me stream at the quality I do.
Sure we could use Ustream with Xsplit but then it would have a water mark and nobody would like that.

Sheek: I'm using XSplit now on my Ustream account and it is working great. But I'll have to admit that the water mark can be quite annoying at times. But I personally chose a water mark before a broke stream due to own3d.tv!
And also, I would like to add that you guys obviously are doing a great job! I'm just trying to give you feedback on how to improve. And in my previous post I simply stated that the US/EU lag issue could've been easily solved.

?? xsplit doesn't stream a watermark to ustream anymore, afaik.
anyways, own3d.tv is our base right now as we are having our VODarchives there as well. it's still a fairly new site thus a lot of downtime (especially lately) but i am sure that they do their best to have the website running as well as possible.

Really too bad it's using own3d.tv, this streaming service doesn't work for alot of people, especially windows XP users aparently, and unfortunately I"m one of them. Looked it up on google, and own3d being stuck in an infinite loading loop seems to be very common, but can't find a fix

It would be nice to have some sort of a banner on screen during down-time between games. Its main purpose would be to announce what's coming next and (approximately) when. Sometimes you would have like a 20 minute pause between games, during which you discuss stuff and although those who have been watching for a while probably know what's going to happen next, those who have just tuned in might have no idea. I often find myself browsing through different streams like switching channels on TV - having an actual schedule, although tentative, would be great.

yo ipp used to watch ur stream, i dont mind your speech enhancement <3, but about a month ago for some reason someone banned me from the chat, which is weird cause i never really use chat except to catch up on a cast when i was late. Anyway how difficult would this be to fix? if its a hassle don't worry about it. I would watch ur stream again if you would fix this and readd u on facebook etc. When I got banned for no reason i could figure it kinda of turned me off from ur stream.
