It's just worse in the Euros I feel like because the competition is higher in the group stage with no real weak teams participating. A loss in the first game is crushing. Look at Netherlands, they played quite attacking football against Denmark and created a flurry of chances which they wasted and they got caught on a break. Now they are more likely then not going home.
I guess I am kind of selling some teams a bit short though now that I think about it, as I have enjoyed most of the games with France - England and Portugal - Germany (except the last 15 minutes) being the exceptions.
Poland - Greece : Entertaining though largely because of drama and incompetence
Russia - Czech Rep. : Entertaining football by Russia, especially Arshavin played well (poor Arsenal)
Holland - Denmark : Entertaining game from both teams who played quite daringly. Dutch attacked magnificently at times and the Danes by no means parked the bus and had a lot of chances as well.
Portugal - Germany : A little bit boring until Germany scored the goal as it forced Portugal to make some attempts to attack.
Italy - Spain : Entertaining game as well, with Italy initially creating quite a few dangerous chances. Cassano was especially good. Second half Spain made some substitutions and created many more dangerous opportunities.
Croatia - Ireland : Was unable to see this game unfortunately.
England - France : Mostly boring game with England playing very defensively and France not willing to take any real risks to break them down.
Sweden - Ukraine : At half time its been an entertaining game after the first 10 minutes. Ukraine probably slightly the better side but best chance fell to Sweden.
So I guess its been a fun tournament to watch thus far thinking about it. Hoping for the next round to be even better though.
