Both teams are great.

Chill and Day9 have great humorous synergy in light of their understanding of the game.

Tasteless and Artosis are great to watch for their dry humour and intense shoutcast moments.

tie between tasteless and artosis. i guess chill and day9 could do better, if their stream did not lag so hard for me.

I love them all!
altho if i can give a little suggestion. Tasteless and Artosis need to give up the 'you are so right', 'this is so true' , 'you are so amazing this is is soooooo true'.
It gets boring since we do expect you call the thruth, no need to congrats each other for calling things right...

I really don't understand how Artosis can be in last place. He's got the most genuine passion for the game, the most insight into the metagame, and a great speaking voice.

Tasteless - Solid, accessible commentary for the people who don't understand the game on a deeper level. He's lost a little bit of the fire he used to have, but as other people have mentioned, he's done this day in and day out for years. SC wouldn't be the same without him.

Chill - Artosis + Chill were an awesome casting team last TSL. I really enjoy Chill's take on the game, because it tends to be slightly different from my perspective. But, the poll is based on ranking the individual caster, and I can't imagine myself listening to just Chill for every TSL2 game. He doesn't have much energy and I would probably end up being bored.

Day[9] - Got energy? Got energy drinks? Got BEAR SEMEN?! The guy is definately entertaining, and like Artosis, he does give lots of valuable insight... but... he's too much for me. By the end of his casts, I'm tired of hearing his voice, and I'm worn out. The guy can reach speeds of 500 words per minute requiring you to be ^ this tall before getting on the ride.

I think part of the problem is that many of you now take Artosis for granted. He's so active in the community, that maybe we're all too familiar with his style. I urge many of you to reconsider your choices .

Artosis is #1

No Klazart option?!

Love Tasteless but I gotta give it to Day[9] for how easily he is able to present the deeper aspects of the game.

I can't really pick a single favorite caster since it really varies depending on the team.

Day[9]: I think he really does best as a solo or primary caster which is why he works so well for me in combination with Chill who is an excellent secondary caster. Day[9] always seems to have tons and tons of info to give on any given situation and as such I think he shines the most when he's casting a non-live game so he can stop the game and explain in detail what he wants. I think I enjoy his Day[9] dailies more than his TSL performance for this reason. Not to say either is bad, just a matter of which I feel is better.

Chill: My personal favorite for a secondary co-caster. He seems to mesh well with just about any of the other casters and I enjoy his dry humor a lot. He fits into the secondary caster role so well also because he almost never seems to step on the other caster's toes, cutting each other off and such. I like his casting with Day9 in TSL2 but I would like to see him with the other casters as well, even Artosis for TSL1 flashbacks.

Tasteless: Like Day[9] I think Tasteless is best suited to a solo or primary caster role which he hasn't really been doing this TSL2 as Artosis seems to be acting like the primary with Tasteless as the secondary. I'm not really liking that combination that way. Tasteless also seems a bit on the tired end of things in these TSL2 casts, understandably so though. He seems like he has more to say a lot of the time but Artosis keeps dominating the cast which I don't think is his best suit. Just for kicks I'd like to see a Tasteless/Day9 cast because I think it would be interesting.

Artosis: I think he fits a secondary caster role far better than what seems like a primary caster role he's taken in TSL2. I first heard his casts with Gentho during the Ascension tournament and I thought he was excellent during those, doing what he did best, being an encyclopedia of SC. If he acted as more of a secondary to Tasteless I think I would enjoy their casts more.

All that said, I think Artosis and Chill have really good chemistry despite them both being secondary casters in my opinion. I think my favorite pairing for Tasteless was when he casted with SDM. Like I said for Day9, I like his solo casts best but paired with Chill is good too as Chill can back up anyone in my opinion.

Day9 is amazing. His strategic insights (among others his emphasis concerning the nuances on where to expand, control of the center and when and where to apply pressure) have added a level of complexity to the game that I was aware of to some degree on an unconscious level but wasn't truly cognisant about. Day9 goes beyond mere starcraft analysis and discusses tactical and strategic concepts that transcend the game and are applicable to war in general. Watching him feels like listening to an abridged version of the Art of War. As if his Sun Tzu like commentary wasn't enough he's one of the funniest human beings I've ever had the pleasure of listening to (I know he did a stand up routine a while back but I've never found the video does anyone have a link?). If you haven't read or seen any of the following I urge you to do so immediately: His blog about getting caught masturbating on an airplane bathroom- "It is what it is" -absolutely legendary, his 2v2v2v2 BGH video, his impersonation of the overlord sounds, oh god what I would give to make that my ring tone haha. I don't know what else to say really. His pacing and his voice are agreeable and fit nicely with the rest of his demeanor.

The only criticism I have is that he seems to stress professionalism at the cost of entertainment in the TSL casts at times. It’s understandable considering the different setting and the expectations that come from representing something as large and respectable as the TSL but Day9 is really at his best when he's interspersing humor with his strategic insight. Finding a right balance for his amazing set of skills is his biggest hurdle. Keep up the excellent work Sean you do amazing things for the community.

Tasteless, the little brother. Tasteless and I have a complicated history. His appearance pre GOM were lively and interesting but it I didn't crave tasteless like a hard street drug. All of that changed when I caught him on the Gomtv Star Invitational. I don’t know if it was because he was suddenly casting solo or if it had anything to due with his recent arrival in Korea and personal exposure to the E-sport epicenter; whatever it was Nick became a super sayian caster seemingly overnight (fittingly, during one of his casts he joked that his hairstylist had coiffed him a super sayian hairstyle). Nick’s witticism were gut busting and his endless energy and tempo kept the spectator breathless and made every encounter in the game epic and god help anyone watching with shortness of breath or a breathing condition if a speed shuttle and scourge made an appearance- SCOURRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Highlight of my day every time.

When Susie came on board the cast was still entertaining but it lost some of the appeal to me. The Nick and Susie pairing was an ongoing struggle to create dynamic chemistry between the casters that unfortunately never came to fruition. Nick and Daniel Lee were an excellent duo that occasionally achieved the sublime. Daniel Lee is akin to Day9 in his thorough dissection of strategy and occasionally even used Art of War quotes lol. Also, Monkey Milk, nuff said. With all these exceptional performances I was really looking forward to Tasteless casting the TSL. However, to my great disappointment tasteless has been severely underperforming. His energy level seems lower and his humor seems neutered if not forced at times. I know he’s casting under difficult circumstances (4 am I think?) and that its bound to affect his performance so I’m trying to be understanding of his recent efforts. Your outgoing personality and raw verbal talent make you a natural caster I still believe!

To be blunt, I’ve never really understood why Artosis casting gets so much praise. He does great things for the community by covering stories in Korea and helping promising foreign players putting to use his E-sport connection but his casting is uninspired and dull. He casts like a weatherman with a verbal tempo that rarely deviates from the same eternal metronome pace. Contrary to what it should do his voice hinders my enjoyment of the game and commits the greatest casting sin by taking me out of the action and making me focus on how annoyed I am at the sound coming out of my speakers. His strategic knowledge is fine but fails to bring anything exceptional that differentiate him from every other caster on the circuit. Lastly, Artosis’s bias often creeps through his casts and outright alienates me. Again though, he's casting around 4 am which make things more difficult then they should be.

I haven’t listened to Chill enough to have a strong opinion on him yet but he sounds like he has potential.

Thanks for all your hard work guys!

Yea i don't know if I changed or tasteless did, but I get the feeling he started trying too hard, like the other guy said, about when SDM came along he started to sound very forced. At first I was an enourmous fan, when suzy came along it was still ok, and then Tasteless and SDM by the end were just repeating 1 or 2 things over and over again every damn game in different ways, it was horrible and i actually stopped watching GOM by then, so yea not a big fan of tasteless anymore.
Of the other three I like Day[9] the best

I don't know why people seem to think Day has the best analysis... I remember listening to the TvZ mech liquipedia podcast with Artosis, Idra and Day, and Day was way outclassed in terms of knowledge about biomech builds, valkonic, etc. I've listened to a few of his daily shows and while I'm sure some people can't think reasonably about starcraft and find it useful, he doesn't say anything that profound, but he sure takes a long time to say it. if you're trying to get better at starcraft, watch your own replays to see where you fucked up, watch pro replays, practice your mechanics over and over again; the vague ideas he talks about in his show don't make you any better.

That said, this TSL commentary has been good overall though I hope for the return of Artosis/Chill.

When tasteless doesn't sound tired he is my favorite. I loved him in GOM, but TSL he seems a bit out of it. Close behind is day. Chill and artosis tie for 3/4, but again they are not much worse. I love all 4.
