I read this and I was like, "Random matchups? Did kwark off race..." checked the matchlist: NOPE. But by "matchups" I assume he means not reimu, smi.lols, other AoN members or deanotic.
Yeah ok you laddered today and lost a bunch. The world has returned to normalcy.

agree. especially with the bold one. i am not that much of a player myself but imo this game is not only about copying the most modern and played korean pattern and the one with the slightly better mechanics this time wins.. its also about scouting + reading the opponent, using his flaws and to gauge for worthy risks.
the strength of zerg is beeing the most versatile race. you can sacrifice eco for a more powerful and surprising timing attack and when someone like f91 reads you right and you dont scout him well enough then his so spoken "coinflip" would be more like 70 to 30 % risk in his favour because of his experience and gamesense where lesser "skilled" players would fail most of the time in this matter.
if you know you play vs someone where you maybe are mechanical stronger and he is trying to strategically outplay you then you always need to take this in consideration by for example not parking your marines somewhere in front of your base, not always going for the most eco powering build and keeping your scouting / comprehending skills up.
the game is still a strategical game and not only about who is following one fixed and sharped korean pattern with the slightly better mechanics. if you really think broodwar is a well balanced game then you should accept every part of it and not only your philosophy of it based on your own strengths and that of your race.

Yeah guys, try to have a debate with Idra. Totally works. No problems here.
|
theres no debate here. they can simply go through tlpd and watch every vod where protoss double nexuses, and keep track of the record. if protoss wins less than 70% ill admit octzerg is a more skilled player than me.
|
Someone should make list of "thing you are not allowed to do against idra", so he stops spamming the thread with complaints about zerlings, ultralisks, carriers, nexuses, double nexuses etc..
|
i have to add and admit that imo you can talk about 50:50 coinflip things when the other one is deciding this kind of strategy everytime without any game information, nor information about the other player and does rely in general only of this kind of builds to win. but not if he surprises you in the flow of the game or cause he knows who he is up against like in the f91 example.
and i just state my opinion. dont need to have a debate or to inevitably convince idra or someone else of something.

Hahaha, a very good start. All this double-nexus talk has motivated me to look up some VODs or replays.

u lose if u cant adapt u lose if u cant read a player properly..
its your fault its not cheap no matter how someone beats u in this particular game he was just better..
I dont know how someone as clever as idra cant comprehend this
|
Cool, now every korean wants to play Fighting Spirit and I won't be able to make it to top48 at all. Should have played more last week :\

Or perhaps... the #1 foreigner, the guy who is currently residing in a Korean pro gaming house and playing 10+ hours a day... knows more about Starcraft than you do?
Just sayin'.

Of course I will, but that won't make me reach top48. Whatever, TSL ladder is still funny ^^

A+ and top 50! Good work, IdrA.

Idra has thrown down the gauntlet. Who's up to the challenge?
