Balance is ALWAYS map dependent, because map alter balance to the point you can make very easily every single matchup unplayable for any faction by altering your map construction. You talk about TvZ. You simply can't talk about the balance of TvZ without saying if you play on Reverse Temple or Battle Royal. On Battle Royal Z>>>>>T; the matchup is near unplayable for terrans. Now, maps stabilized with certain features (the "Lost Temple paradigm" with naturals, 8-10 patches, a gas etc...) that were making all three non mirror matchups as balanced as possible. And you can argue that you can't have a really balanced ZvT without fucking up the other matchups and that map creators ended up with a solution that is not optimal for zergs. But then again, I would really complain a lot about the map pools before accusing the game of being unfair. The game is not fair or unfair until you give it a context. | ||
