They've been a member since 2010, and I haven't really investigated yet, but something tells me they never blamed everything on the Jews (while residing in Germany of all place) or spoke ill of gypsies in the past. Internet radicalization is real, y'all. EDIT: Browsed his posting history for a bit, you can clearly see the moment somewhere around 2021-2022 or so when, after nearly a decade of almost no activity, he went off the deep end. Or perhaps previously one wasn’t as exposed to as much of the crazy so it seems more apparent. I’d wager it’s probably a combination of the two though myself. | ||

My theory is that for those it happens to, it's probably a combination of social isolation, increasing polarization in politics and online/media rhetoric, and an unfulfilled life as the tinder, fuel, and oxygen. At that point, all you need is one match. | ||

Yo. This is Roger. Made this acct to say...thank you, my dudes. Maybe a bit dramatic and sudden an exit, but was triggered by that Stormgate thread again. So decided to nuke myself instead of climbing on the Ferris wheel for the 100th time. In general, feels like all internet stuff is foaming at outrage, engaging in pointless drama, or bickering about dumb stuff. I tried to engage people on a higher level in that General RTS thread but it went nowhere. Such is life. Getting told off by mods for no reason is like the icing on the cake for me, and yet another reminder that there are better things to do with my time. If you actually like my stuff, I'll be posting it elsewhere. Excited to finally share after a year of working. Anyone interested in RTS/RTS art might be piqued. Cheers! (And go do something else :--)) | ||
