Sounds like a lot of fun, gl to team EG ^_^
Woah this is awesome news. Also Going to make that tournament a hell of a lot harder. Socal is just getting bigger and bigger for Esports in the west. I will be stopping by for sure.
very cool wish i could attend
Looks like fun. Big investment coming into EG.SC2 with the house and such, hopefully the results pay off.
This is pretty sweet. Wish I lived in So Cal and not Nor Cal
That Verizon Tournament is gonna have a sick line up. I believe Sen said he was going too.
Awesome, awesome news! Gogo EG!
Great initiative. Wish I could go.
Wow pretty cool, wonder where they'll stay since the EG house will be located in Arizona.
That being said will the arizona house ever exist?
Wow really cool to see an opportunity like this for the sponsors, team, and lan center all together, working with each other before a big MLG event. Will the EG be moving into their prospective team house after MLG?
I don't get why it's called a bootcamp?
Looks like a cool event. Hope it pays off to this American team in the upcoming MLG

They're probably running on a treadmill while playing SC2, etc.
Just another reason why I wished I lived in California
Bootcamp is a common term used in competitive Counter-Strike when a team practices hardcore before a big tournament. To see EG's SC2 division do this is pretty cool since few RTS players do it. The reason is because CS teams primarily do it since it is a team game, so having all 5 players present is much better than practicing online.
Definitely gonna make an appearance to meet the players! Feeling really blessed that I live in SoCal!
Great announcement, hoping for some improvments.

i got tricked i thought it was china. gl to eg

Why would you tell people where your team is bootcamping? What part of bootcamping involves fan meet and greet?

Why would you detract from a cool opportunity; who honestly cares what they call it?
Personally i feel they should bootcamp in Sydney, Australia before Anaheim but ey what can you do :p

I thought that it was Chicago, but California makes more since that's where MLG is.

I will be there..So will you guys be there all day or something?

I actually knew it was Chino..since I am pretty close to it

Because the entire point of bootcamping is supposed to be hardcore training for a major lan tournament coming up? What's the point if it becomes a social outing? Mr Chae said it best when he said GSL is a competition but MLG is a festival/competition.

Taking some time to interact with fans isn't going to screw up their training. Quite frankly the interaction between players and fans in the West is a big reason the game is taking off while in Korea it isn't. I would hate to see it disappear.
This could be really good for the EG guys when they really need to preform at the next events to keep up the sponsor money. I feel like they have been slacking lately in the performance department a little and this could be the boost they need.
Friend and I are driving down 7 hours to play in this tourney, looking forward to *maybe* playing a pro or two and of course, lots of autographs and pics!
This disappoints me, I was expecting a weightlifting video at the very least from Incontrol and Machine. Or getting Idra the size of Machine, this is pretty cool too though.
Well, I wouldn't call it "bootcamping" if they attend a lan, participate in a tournament and having massive fan interaction. When I heard the title, I thought they would shut themselves in somewhere and train non-stop.
Wishing them good luck anyways, their players are one of the few hopes, the foreign scene has. :-/
I highly doubt that you can win an MLG with 1 week worth of intense training. That being said, good luck and use the time wisely.
whoa. i've never heard of this lan center and it's about 4 minutes from my pad.
Hahaha, Bootcamp... Can just imagine you rock up and Idra is dressed as a drill instructor ordering you to do pushups and abusing you as you make micro mistakes in Starcraft 2 etc. Please let it be...

Yeah, I'd been surprised no one had really been doing this before going to a major LAN. It makes a lot of sense (and it's a sign the house won't be ready next week, LOL, but they're supposedly moving into the main house after MLG), especially for DeMuslim, as he'll be time adjusted.
I'm going to take a hot guess they're driving over from AZ rather than flying, so I imagine most of the normal travel budget was actually available to do something like this. They're putting the guys up for a few extra days + food, so there is that cost, but I imagine the since the LAN is being sponsored by some of the companies EG works with, some of those costs got defrayed, or at least the daily cost of the LAN. Actually, that's probably going to be a solid draw for the LAN center, plus ensuring a bunch of Pros being there.
All told, MLG Anaheim is looking to be insane in the Pool Play this time around. *Everyone* is stepping up their game. For as much as the "Korean Invasion" has been pretty fun, it's also really obvious that the Koreans are perfectly beatable, it's just a matter of putting in the work and training the responses.
Damn, I thought they were actually setting up a EG house to practice at for an extended period of time. I hope the week will help either way
I'm curious how this is going to be organized. Will there be a coach or organizer that is setting up a training regimen or are the players still responsible for their own time and how much they want to play. Will their practice be more directed i.e. more specific scrims, replay watching, or will it just be free form practicing as usual? Will they be required to practice at the bootcamp for certain hours of the day or can they stop if they think they have done enough for the day?
I'm just curious how close this training will get to how the Koreans train. It seems that method yields biggest results.
I'm a huge EG fanboi. That's my team. I root for you guys. Stomp some nerds.
Was disappointed to see that iNcontroL was going to quit casting NASL and focus more on playing, but seeing this is really proof that him+everyone else in EG is going to start kicking more ass in LANs.

They are, back in AZ, but apparently it's not up yet. Incontrol mentioned he was moving in with Machine & Idra after NASL, but the house wouldn't be up & functional until after MLG? I think that was it.

eg showing how serious their training is by taking a few days out to do a fan meet and greet at the worst possible time.

its not called a break if you havent even started yet when you take it.
they are going to some low level local lan to show off how much they can beat people who only play for fun, that wont help them beat koreans at mlg will it?

How does it reek of fear. It's a fun little public thing where you can see their players and possibly interact. I highly doubt this is designed as a super serious training scheme. Doing that in public is rather counter productive.
Why must everyone hate. If I was in America and in the area this would be an awesome opportunity.

Forums are truly an impossible medium to addressing some of the claims people make. Once I answer one, another one pops up and it just becomes this endless cycle of monotony!
Anyways, do you feel it's fair to make the claim that an entire team consisting of people like IdrA, DeMusliM, iNcontroL, and four others would determine it to be appropriate to practice together only for one week prior to such a major event like MLG Anaheim?
Would it not be a safer bet to assume they've been practicing for quite some time together and that the Odyssey Gaming Center's Verizon SC2 tournament is just a supplement to that practice?
Gotta be honest, bootcamp in china sounded way more badass. SirScoots make it happen! 24h gameplay a day, eat and sleep while playing for improved multitasking. :D
"Do or do not, there is no try."
Remember these wise words from Yoda and just go. My only regret after attending the NASL finals is that I waited so long before I finally attend a StarCraft event. The experience is not one that can be captured in words, nor photos, nor videos. You have to be there to understand.
Will EG also attend the SoCal LAN at whittier, August 6th?

This is how you take down koreans

He said on his stream they would be starting this bootcamp 3 weeks before MLG. Its starting in Arizona. With this announced they are just gonna be in Cali a week early, competing at the Verizon lan (which is bigger than you think, Sen said he will be playing in it too), and continuing the bootcamp in Cali.
