Don't post in this thread to say "gay gamers are like everyone else, why do they have a special thread?" It is something that has been posted numerous times, and this isn't the place for that discussion.
For regular posters, don't quote the trolls. |

Anyways, I know this seems super sarcastic but I'm completely serious. How can you tolerate getting something shoved up your ass? There have been many legitimate questions in this thread. As for your question, which is legitimate, if a bit crudely phrased, it's somewhere between painful, uncomfortable, and extremely pleasurable. Not to mention it's so hot for us. I mean, I could ask you why you enjoy playing with boobs (which I assume you do [they're so weird!]) - it's not a directly pleasurable act, but it's pleasurable because it turns you on. Make sensies?
I suppose.

Let's assume that being gay is genetic.
If that is true then isn't it a "disorder"(in the reproductive sense) that is worse than having a mental illness or most other genetic diseases?
The more open people are about being gay, the faster the whole idea of being gay will be a thing of the past and in some obscure section of the history book. Simply because it's something that cannot be passed on to the next generation because of the lack of a next generation.
Before you talk about genetics, study genetics first. There's something called recessive traits. That's not to say it's definitely genetic, it's just that such an argument is invalid. The only thing you could say is that the gene (if there is one) is not dominant I have studied genetics, thanks for the needless flame. If you studied genetics you would know that there isn't only recessive and dominant genes. The majority of gay people will tell you that they believe their sexuality is genetic, and people are finding evidence for this constantly. Maybe you have heard of the choice vs genes controversy? Aside from the flame. It is, reproductively, and unwanted trait which does cause the % of the trait in the population to diminish over time, recessive, dominant, co-dominant or not. If you have studied genetics, it wasn't very well. Anyone who studies genetics seriously will know that evolution goes hand-in-hand with it (and everything else in biology) and that's where your post is flawed. I'm guessing you believe it's a choice or else it would have dwindled away by now? Well make sure to read my post because I'm starting to sound like a broken record. Like I mentioned earlier, just because you can't directly reproduce does not mean that your genes are forever barred from the next generation--your relatives can pass on your genes for you as well. Homosexuality can be seen as an alternate mechanism to evolution (albeit less frequent) in that it adheres to kin selection. From the wikipedia entry on it: Kin selection refers to apparent strategies in evolution that favor the reproductive success of an organism's relatives, even at a cost to their own survival and/or reproduction. The classic example is a eusocial insect colony, in which sterile females act as workers to assist their mother in the production of additional offspring. Switch sterile females for voluntarily sterile brothers and mother to sisters in that last sentence and voila! The case of homosexuality makes a little more sense. If I had to classify homosexuality, I'd say that it acts similarly to an outlaw gene in that it jeopardizes the reproduction of other genes in favour of itself. I say this because there have been studies done where they have found that female relatives of gay males tend to be more fecund than females not known to have any gay relatives. If I had to make a guess, I'd say that under the right environmental conditions, males with the gay gene have a great chance of becoming homosexual, whereas this same gene in their female relatives makes them hornier (who knows, but they tend to have more children than average). With the brother having no children of his own, he works to ensure the survival and replication of his nieces and nephews, which in turn share his genes as well. So it benefits the sister's genes, while fucking over some of the brother's genes. It would also help his brothers who may not be expressing the homosexual trait but whom have the "gene" anyway Now the environment probably does have a bit to do with homosexuality, but I'd wager my life on their being a genetic precursor. I'd imagine that their could be some possible epigenetic factors involved or maybe even the way a certain portion of mRNA is spliced or something. Who knows, but there is something biological going on and the environmental component of it definitely wouldn't be a choice someone makes. I'm not so sure about the genetic processes of lesbians, but it leads me to believe that their may be alternative modes of inheritance of homosexuality, be it genes themselves or other biological factors. First of all, YAY GENETICS. I freakin love evolution. I don't entirely agree with you (Masamune) about the gay gene being entirely present due to kin selection. I mean, that's almost certainly one of the reasons it's around, and *interestingly* (just thought this up :D) these kind of genes almost act as a birth control measure, increasing the ratio of adults : children, which is a favourable thing to have in some ways (though obviously it's a balance between having few healthy children and many unhealthy children). Another reason it is around is because, let's face it, a large majority of gay guys HAVE been sleeping with women and reproducing, purely because of the social reaction to gay sex (and I think this is something people forget about in their discussions - homosexuality has almost certainly been happening for the entire lifetime of the human species). Another very interesting idea about homosexuality in genetics and why it is still around is the idea of a gene for homosexuality (and obviously it's not one gene that causes the whole thing, but possibly a crucial one) being X-linked. As in the gene is on the X chromosome. What this means is that while you may not reproduce, there is a 50:50 chance of your sisters having the gene and passing it on. I am also loath to say that the gene (although again, it's obviously more than one) is dominant/recessive/co-dominant/whatever, as these kind of labels are getting more and more blurry as we discover more about our genome, and more importantly such a complex trait as sexuality is determined by a huge amount of genes, so the dominance or recessiveness of one may have no effect on the outcome. Your comments about epigenetics are pretty interesting - I tend to tunnel vision on genomes and forget about all this other stuff which is at least as important. So yeah, epigenetics almost certainly does come into it, really interesting point, but I have no idea how any of it would work GOD the body is complex. Anyway, back to gaaaay. Someone asked what was one's favourite colour. Mine is green Catreina it sounds like the whole situation with Raelcun completely sucks, it definitely seems to me like being trans (of any sort) is harder than being gay at the moment. Big hugs. And to cheer everyone up, and bring up the topic of gay adoption: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8081829.stm<3 gogo evolution & genetics!
Yeah, I agree with your first paragraph in that homosexuality probably did propagate successfully to create a better balance of children to adults (kinda like menopause!), hence siblings being able to care for their relatives' children, but this is still kin selection! ^^
With the second paragraph, I'm not so certain this would be a major factor. Scientists don't really have a formally accepted theory on why homosexuality exists so maybe it is a mix of everything, but I'm more inclined to sway away from this sneaker theory. For people who are not familiar with it, some scientists speculate that perhaps being gay was a cover for secretly mating with the woman and getting around other males' guards when they weren't around, hence the "Sneaky Fucker" theory. This may be a possible reason to homosexuality, but imo I don't see bisexuality as being common among men. I think it would be a stronger candidate to help explain female homosexuality. That's just my 2 cents :/
I agree with your third paragraph in that homosexuality is most likely a complex trait involving multiple biological facts and maybe even multiple environmental factors. If I remember correctly, I think there was even a region on the q arm of the X chromosome that was of special interest to researches studying homosexuality! And yeah, epigenetics are a mixed blessing imo because although it provides even more diversity for life, it's gonna be a bitch to research and understand.
I hope Mora won't be mad at how derailed the thread has become lol.
Edit: The study Heyoka speaks of (and empirical evidence) is a big reason of why I don't see the sneaky fucker theory being that plausible for male homosexuality, but possible for female homosexuals.

Interestingly women, on the whole, tend to fall into a wider spectrum and aren't polarized. I've read of this study too. Show nested quote +How do you truly find pleasure in being penetrated back there? Wouldn't it hurt more than anything? Although anal sex is associated with gay men for obvious reasons, it's not especially unique to us. Lots and lots and lots of straight men enjoy anal play, going from their gf/wife fingering them while giving oral all the way to having gf/wife fuck them with a strap-on. Humans in general attach a lot of importance to penetration, but it's not especially important. If you're a man that likes being penetrated by women, you're straight. If you're a man that likes penetrating other men, you're gay. So on and so forth. Finally: done right, it doesn't hurt. Go slow, use lots of lube. Start with fingers or toys and slowly move up in diameter. It's funny how often that question comes up. To answer the follow-up question: there's no rule about who bottoms and who tops. Each couple/pair/trio+ works it out for themselves. Like everything else, it's a spectrum. Edit, I strongly disagree with the following:Show nested quote +Liken it to the first time a young girl has sex. It hurts like holy hell, but once you get used to it, it is amazing. As said by psychopat: It's definitely possible for at least some girls to lose their virginity painlessly, given a considerate partner. And for me personally, my first time absolutely did not hurt. My at-the-time BF went slow and used lots of lube. I also think that (as with girls), arousal factors into it. At least it does with me. Full disclosure: I almost always bottom, and orgasms from topping have never come anywhere near the intensity of orgasms from bottoming.
Well there you go. A totally stupid statement from someone with no experience (me) compared with someone who has plenty of experience (paprikaspice).

I find it funny to read how people actually think that whether or not homosexuality is genetically caused actually matters in the long run. I'm like... "So?"

I stopped drinking soda completely, stopped eating cookies, stopped eating chips, and cut my fast food intake way down. Now, instead of three times a week, it's more like once every two weeks. It takes a lot of willpower to stick with it, but it's worth it because I feel so much better and I'm nice and skinny, too. My advice to you would be to just lower your intake of bad foods. For example, if you have two cans of soda a day now, cut it down to one. If you have McDonalds three times a week now, cut it down to once a week. If you feel like you can handle cutting out bad foods entirely, you should go for it. The most important thing is to stick with it and not give up. There will definitely be times where you crave bad things (especially in the first week or two), but you can't give in. Eventually, the cravings will go away if you deny them long enough.

Just a generally really bad diet. I'd estimate that my daily caloric intake was at least 4,000. I started losing weight when I cut my food intake in half and made the remaining half a lot healthier. Yea I drink like 3-4 Dr. Pepper a day, I loooooove Dr. Pepper, but like what kind of healthier food because I am really picky although I am trying to break out of that habit so

I used to be about 200 pounds, but now I'm down to 135 or so. I'm about 5'9", by the way. I didn't even have to exercise that much because I didn't want to get muscles. The most important thing you have to realize about weight loss is that it's more than just a diet; it's a permanent lifestyle change. A lot of people seem to be under the delusion that you can diet, lose weight, and then go back to your old eating habits and stay skinny. That's completely 100% false. If you want to lose weight, you just have to be committed to it. Another thing you could look into is makeup. I haven't learned how to use it myself yet, but I know that you can disguise angular, manly features with the right makeup application. May I ask what your past eating habit and new eating habits were? I would love it to be able to lose 70 pounds without exercising just because I am not an exercise kind of person. So much of our culture is focused around your sexuality, how can you not see how dramatically that it would change your life to be gay?
I'll make a brief list of everything that i see that is about heterosexuality, that's thrown in my face all the time: * guys talking about hot girls * posters with hot women on them * baby strollers. they always have a mom and a dad. * music, always about straight relationships * movies, always about straight love (seriously, almost every movie has a relationship in it) * segregated washroom facilities (men / women) * straight people holding hands. they're everywhere. * spousal RRSP programs * clubs / bars * straight people dancing in clubs
Much of life/culture is focused around finding love/satisfying lust. Not only does the majority of culture not accommodate for my sexuality, but a large part of it disapproves of it.
There's nothing i can say that will give you understanding.
I cannot describe the feeling i get from seeing two guys holding hands in public. It makes me want to holler at the top of my lungs with joy. Yay love, you know? Where I live homosexuals are waaaaay more 'in your face' about those things than straight people. To a point where you are equally likely to see a gay / straight couple kissing in the street. And there is nothing wrong with that. Actually very few people here bother at all. So just sayin: for whatever reason, be it religion, way of life, sexual identity or whatnot - you can always move to where you can openly be who you are. there is a place to feel at home for everyone somewhere IMO. Put yourself in the shoes of a dude who loves the cock. With all the cultural stigma attached, and the miscellaneous shit they've taken from people over the years. And now you're at a point where you've found a peer group who actually fit your personality, and you are learning to get over all the nonsense that's been heaped on you personally and culturally about homosexuality - and you decide "hey I think it's kinda fun to be just as much a horn dog as all the breeders!". The in your face argument is a bunk cop out. The thing you fail to acknowledge is that straight behaviour is also extremely IN YOUR FACE hollering at the top of your lungs I AM STRAIGHT. I better go out and tell all the black kids to stop wearing Sean John and stop listening to rap, and tell all the Mexicans to stop ... driving low riders (fuck I don't know) ... because hey... YOUR CULTURAL, SEXUAL AND PERSONAL IDENTITY IS SO FOREIGN TO ME THAT I TAKE OFFENCE AT BEING FORCED TO COEXIST WITH IT! [/u]
no idea how to put spoilers right but is louder gay, it seems like it with his responce and also day 9 when he was younger was sooooo good looking, (id hit that).

unfortunately "gay" has taken on a whole new meaning as an adjective, especially in the gaming scene
i myself really dislike saying that another player was "raped"
unfortunately these things catch on

Anyways, I know this seems super sarcastic but I'm completely serious. How can you tolerate getting something shoved up your ass? There have been many legitimate questions in this thread. As for your question, which is legitimate, if a bit crudely phrased, it's somewhere between painful, uncomfortable, and extremely pleasurable. Not to mention it's so hot for us. I mean, I could ask you why you enjoy playing with boobs (which I assume you do [they're so weird!]) - it's not a directly pleasurable act, but it's pleasurable because it turns you on. Make sensies? I suppose. if it aint directly pleasurable, why do you guys think that there are a bunch of prostate stimulator sex toys on the market? protip: prostate is in the ass

While I don't care if people are gay or not, I absolutely can't stand flamboyant ones. The gay guys that you can't even tell are gay and just act like any other guy I am fine with being friends with, but any that talk raspy or lispy and wear all sorts of fancy colorful clothes I have never gotten along with. Its like they are faking a personality instead of being themselves and it is very bothering.
What causes gay guys to act like that while some you would never know until the actual topic of their sexuality comes up, if ever?

What causes gay guys to act like that while some you would never know until the actual topic of their sexuality comes up, if ever? I think this was discussed in the thread. It is often not the 'fault' of the guy if he acts that way, I believe. There's more to it than just a conscious decision to act that way for whatever reason. But I understand what you mean about how it bugs you whereas guys who don't act differently don't.

Asking again as previous question got buried in the genetic debate crap: What is your favorite color? And perhaps has this changed. I know that you might not have one. Color preferences have been linked to personality and even if I think that's total crap, it matters from a cultural perspective.
(edit: edit out something that's actually not worth asking)
